Dead Orchard Rubber Guard Finish - Clearing their elbow to lock it up

Dead orchards are probably the highest percentage Rubber Guard move. It’s also the first attack to keep in mind once you get to mission control as your opponent is going to want to resist and pull out. The key thing here when going for dead orchards is getting their head off line to your belly button or past and then doing the same to their elbow. You can either use “crackhead” control or just free pump with the leg. But the whole point is just to get their elbow to your belly button. Once you have got their elbow across and onto your stomachs, it’s easy to tie up the arm in triangle and go for the sub. - Also something to keep in mind, it’s much easier to find the dead orchard when your opponent drives in and steps up on one leg or the other vs when they are still on both knees. 🙂👌♥️

As a two-year blue belt I’m starting to play around with the rubber guard. Considering I am built like a hobbit am I wasting my time going for the dead orchard? Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼

Yea I don’t recommend rubber guard to hobbits. Just being honest, jits is body type dependent and there are def certain games which are meant for certain body types.
