This is my favorite game released in the last few years since dune imperium. I hope you get a chance to play a full game now that you have a handle on how it plays. I'd love to see a 4 square review of it.

A small correction: you CAN produce to an island you don't control, you just can't pick the stuff up unless you also control it (which makes it risky). Buildings can only be built on controlled islands though.

Ya, I am half way through this video, and am going to watch another DR video to learn it. Talking over each other, and that lady seems perpetually confused.

Im watching this for the first time as learn to play...Isnt advancement possible only with the cards that you have used in your turn and not the ones in your hand? 25:00 minute +

Only about 25 minutes in so maybe you correct it later, but you must sleeve advancements onto cards that YOU PLAYED on a turn. You CANNOT sleeve them into cards you kept in your hand, or new cards that you draw.

At 27:10, Camilla should have drawn 4 cards, not 2. You always draw 4 cards until/unless you reach your hand limit (default of 6 but could increase from controlling islands).

This is a minor thing because usually it isn't a good idea, but you CAN use the Purser to produce on ANY island, including islands that nobody controls (sometimes not a bad idea), or even islands your opponent controls (almost always a bad idea).

At 37:55, Mike can pick up the coin and still set his sails. When you control an island you can load and unload as needed just like when you are at port.

At 38:25, even if Zee WAS in pirate mode, it would only take effect if Mike stopped on Zee's space to do something. You can sail through opponents that are in pirate mode and avoid battle, you just can't stop on their space.

lol....Tom, Mike...... Barrels "Float".....so you never really loose them when your ship sinks....you just collect them off the surface...😉🤗

Yeah, empty barrels float. I doubt fully filled barrels would float.

Someone should have had a flyswatter handy so when that guy kept moving the cubes around in the battle ship you could have smacked him in the face.

I can't get passed the battle board. Doesn't seem the same physical odds as rolling dice and might be extremely skewed. Can't imagine there being enough development on this to make it fair and not easy to manipulate hah, but I suppose there could have been some testing. Ruins the game for me, heh.
