I think when Captain Phil died, it was genuinely the first time I was sad for a death of someone in a reality TV show

I stopped watching years ago because Discovery over-dramatized everything after about season 10. However, I still like to follow the boats, especially Northwestern and Time Bandit. Sad that Cornelia won't be back, like Northwestern to Sig and Time Bandit to John and Andy, she's a part of a family legacy.

Edgar Hansen also got in trouble with the law. He got fired from the show, but still works on the Northwestern. They just film around him. However, I don't see that happening with Josh and the Cornelia Marie. It is a lot harder to not film the co-captain of the boat.

Deadliest Catch cancelled Edgar and now Josh. Look its Crab Fisherman they are gonna be some rough characters. Show has been on the decline for years anyway.

I loved this show when it started, but was too upset by so many disasters. It was so unnerving! I really admire these people who do such dangerous work, but watching it become like going to a hospital and watching a tricky heart operation, I just couldn't relax, I guess I was becoming too invested in the people....

I hope the boys of captain Phil 🙏 are doing well and they are missed along with their dad.

In the 19 + years of this show, I've taken only two things away. The Hanson person said on one show "We just dumped 800,000 bucks into this thing (the Northwestern) and we gotta get it out." and on another show said "Work hard, die rich." Thee two statements define the fishing business anywhere. I don't watch the show any more. Too much personal drama and too many people who are really rather unsatisfactory sorts of individuals.

I truly don’t understand the glorification of Phil. He was a nice guy. That’s it. He made all that money and spent it on cars, motorcycles and drugs. He left nothing for his kids but a name. He never even owned the boat. 🤦‍♂️

Was watching the 2021 and seeing how greed was more of a priority than safety. So disappointed in Josh & Casey. Casey has really had a bad influence on Josh. And Casey next to the Wizard is one of my least favorite captains.

Phil will always be the Real Capt of Cornelia , never saw Josh as a real Capt , just a guy who sat in the chair and steered the boat and chatted with the camera guy , never once saw him run to the engine room when problems occurred. If Casey wasent on there I’m sure the Cornelia would of capsized at some point.

I'm NOT saying what he did when he was a teen was right , NOT at all but it was along time ago most males who sexually abuse were also victims themselves which makes it go round and round . This child might have that affect them the rest of their lives so its sad all the way around. the reason why the cornelia might be at the american coast AND blurred on footage in alaska might be if they rented out the fishing quote/licence to another boat sailing near the american coastline to operate under the cornelia marie name or them using the licence quota on another boat because of said need to be near his family in the hospital , they still need to earn cash

Okay he apparently plead guilty to inappropriately touching a 4 year old child when he was ONLY 14, he was a Minor. Why was his record not expunged by the courts when he turned 18? This is not rape and no where in the charges was that said. He plead guilty served his time. Probably plead guilty to avoid a trial as a lot do even though they did not do anything, but they are scared what will happen if they go to trial. Either way he served his time and this was 25 YEARS AGO. Has he been accused of anymore of the same....NO he hasn't and that's the end of it. I no longer watch Deadliest Catch cause of them kicking the Cornelia Marie off the show for a 25 year old act when he was a 14 year old MINOR.
