In todays video we are fishing for Late Summer/ Early Fall walleyes in northern Wisconsin. One of my favorite presentations his time of year is trolling crank baits on lead core on deep transition areas. In this video we troll one of my favorite crank baits the Rapala Scatter Rap Minnow and it gets pounded!
In this video I talk about where we are fishing for these fish and how to troll with lead core to catch more early fall walleyes. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more!

Awesome content! I'm happy all is well. I'm adding to my bucket list! I want to hit Wisconsin, Devils Lake and the closest the St.Croix River. Thanks for the heads up! I would love to see a video of you putting a group of random guys on fish and showing ( US ) your stuff. LOL. Oh, I have a group of 15 to 20 guys heading to Grand Rapids, Mn Sept.30th -3rd. LOL. Scatter Raps are a new staple of mine. The minnow I tend to avoid now tho. I just find 3 trebles to be too much of a PITA. Glass Shad, Deep Husky Jerk and Tail Dancers are my go-to scatter raps.

No joke! I have pulled lures out of the box and found the bills loose. Epoxy fixes it but not if you lose the body during a fish catch. Quality control is sure lacking considering how the price has skyrocketed.

Hey Tom, the scatter rap minnow cranks became unpopular because the bills kept falling off and rendering a $9 or $10 bait useless. Hopefully Rapala fixed the problem.

Hey Tom, great video. I'm waiting for the pleasure boats to get off the lake so I can start doing some serious trolling this fall. Have you ever tried a snap weight in comparison to lead core? Shorter leads to achieve the same depth as lead core, and you can still send it out on a planer board to get away from the boat. Just curious on your thoughts about that.
@patricktorgrimson3996
@patricktorgrimson3996 2 жыл бұрын
Not that you asked me but I make my own and find them invaluable. Leadcore has its place but 80% of the time I run drop weights and have had great success. And I don't fish large walleye producing lakes if you know what I mean.

Tom, Great informative video. I've never done any lead core fishing and wanted to know that since the scatter rap say 6' to 9''are you letting out more line to get to the 20' depth? Also, if I were to buy a trolling rod is there advantage to 1piece over 2piece? Thanks!
