This song has a story. If you did not know, this song was written as a tribute to a fan who died in a car accident trying to get to one of his concerts.

i remember as a kid, i used to listen to dubstep for the drops and never really cared about the musical or atmospheric element. when i discovered this song, i waited and waited for the drop, and it never came. but when i was waiting, i realized how absorbed and moved i was by it. i cant put it into words, but it shifted my dumb noise obsessed teenage mind into finding beauty in the sonics and composition of music as opposed to some gimmicky "drop". this song really changed the way i listen to music.

I'm 29, I just recovered a ton of photos from an old hard-drive I saved in a box, it's was broken but I managed to make it work, I'm now going through it as I listen to this music, the pictures from my teenage years, people I don't speak no more hugging and kissing me. What is this feeling, I feel so hopeless, I'm having this huge reality check, nothing is forever, enjoy every moment.

@@alexm7777 You just answered your own question my friend, it is hard not to dwell on the past and/or regrets. You simply don't... I know, I know, much easier said than done but try replacing the word "dwell" for "learn". Learn from your past, everything you've done, learn from it. Understand that the past is the past, something that can't be changed but only learned from. With that knowledge, take it into your future and shape it to your absolute best version of yourself. You don't need to revel in the past, but understand why/ how it happened, learn from it, and keep climbing, because we are already at the very top of the mountain, and we're barely just getting started... Hope this finds you well, and as always, have a good one my friend. -S

This song is a portrayal of the 5 stages of grief/how it feels to lose a loved one. As the song progresses, this is what each section of the song reminds me of. 1. Denial - 0:00 You are lost. You feel empty, overwhelmed, nothing makes sense. 2. Anger - 0:25 You question yourself: Why didn't I spend more time with this person? Why me? Why didn't I do something about this earlier? 3. Bargaining - 1:33 You will do anything to get that person back. You want your loved one restored. 4. Depression - 3:36 You feel emptiness once again. It lasts forever. Why go on in life? Is there any point? 5. Acceptance - 5:25 You must live in a world without your loved one. It is the new norm you need to accept. The person will always be in your heart. I can't describe what this song makes me feel. I am extremely thankful that I have not lost a loved one during my life, but I can only imagine that this song is what it feels like to go through a loss. If you took the time to read this comment, thank you :)

@@durrantmiller8810 Lol I started bawling once at a Deadmau5 show when he was playing Strobe. I was extremely high and was just suddenly overcome with a wave of overwhelming emotion at the music, love for my friends, and the sheer beauty of 10,000 sweaty bodies all moving together at once in unity and harmony. It felt like this giant sea of humanity and love. It was incredibly intense, the emotion felt like it was just going to burst out of me and so it kinda did. It was super embarrassing though because my friend noticed and she was all concerned that something was wrong with me.

man, I remember listening to this song on repeat when i was in the 10th grade and only 15 years old. I was texting this girl and finally mustered up the courage to tell her how I felt, always the worry of uncertainty being the biggest roadblock as a kid. Turns out she was into me and I got the text back listening to this song. It was the first time i felt something like love towards a "partner". I can still recall the feeling listening to this song now. it changed me...Anyway, the point of this comment is to say that you will never be the best version of yourself if you don't seize every opportunity you can in your life. Take a leap of faith! believe in yourself! you may have people to help you on your way but nobody is going to do it yourself. It comes down to you...YES YOU! Be the best version of yourself and you will radiate happiness until the day you die.

I think of the several times that I moved, missing the few friends that I made, that related to me, that appreciated me. I'm thinking of how lucky I am to be blessed with a wonderful life, and of how to make the best of it, how to make myself proud. How to do something that would let my future self, close to dying, look back at my life and think, I did well.

Someone already posted this, but it's been long since flushed into the comment section, here it is again for you all to enjoy as you listen to this master piece. i want this song to be playing on my deathbed. when it builds up i will remember all the good times i had with my friends and family and the hardships i had in between and how i overcomed it all and the struggle, blood, sweat, and determination brought me to where i lay that fateful day. and when the song drops off at 5:24 is where i slowly close my eyes and embrace the welcoming into the dimension beyond.

If I'm just being honest... this song just makes me tear up. It just makes me remember all of my young days..... makes me remember when life didn't be so hard... but as time does go on... life will get more stressful or harder..... If you think about it... this song just makes you emotional either mentally or physically... and it just makes you remember what life was and is like now. I just love what Deadmau5 does for his music.... and as Tim Vista said "This is what missing someone sounds like" Just be who you are and enjoy your life while it lasts... We will end up being 6ft below the ground one day. whoever reads this, have a great life..

The abyss is horrifying, yet comforting in how it can take you in when you feel your loneliest. You can't help but find some peculiar peacefulness as you push away those who love you, while managing to loathe yourself for doing it. If we keep everyone out, then they can't see our weaknesses, our flaws and imperfections. You feel something deep in you, desperately clawing through the skull and heart to try and reach out for something more; distractions and reasons to stay around. These might be people, projects, drugs, crimes, anything to busy the mind. To keep this soothing darkness at bay. To keep it from pushing you into doing the irreversible. Sooner or later, these distractions fade away. You find yourself being unable to feel what you define as genuine happiness and love. You start to convince yourself you're some monster. That you are unworthy of love and kindness. You toss around in bed, on the floor, in the shower, trying to be okay. But you feel like you can't. The throat begins to swell, your eyes wettening, the sides of your mouth pulling downward, the mind is rushing with an overload of information, thoughts, memories, and images. You can't breathe. You may find yourself doing something you wish you could take back. There's a darkness within you that you can't describe to other people, for fear of being outcasted. You feel isolated, and unworthy of anything but the mental hell you have trapped yourself in. But you are not alone. If you need proof, just listen to the music, and allow yourself to feel Joel/deadmau5's pain through this track. There's a deep sorrow there, but one can almost feel at ease to know finally that they are not alone. As shitty as that sounds. Wherever you are in your life, or how you're feeling at this moment, I hope you can get on the right track to heal. Much love, A rando on the internet (P.S. I seriously recommend following this song by "Strobe". It feels like two blend into each other.)

I remember listening to this on the way to the airport with my Mom. She found out how my Dad had been treating me for around 2.5 years. To keep it short it was hell, abuse, food insecurity, moving from place to place, homelessness. And then it was over and this song came on, and I cried so hard. Thank you Deadmau5 for making this, it's a beautiful peace of art that has helped me process my emotions and grow better as a person. I was 12 then, now I'm 18 going on 19. Very precious memories.

I wish I could see you again, grandma. I went to your house to have lunch everyday. We talked about modern days when we turned on the computer. Don't you remember all of those pictures? Don't you remember when you showed me the internet? Please, grandma, now show me how to live without you... How to live without the one who introduced me to the world, without the one who made my childhood, without the one who made the cousins be together. Now that you're gone, they're gone too... They went with friends, and I'm alone, grandma, I'm alone... I found a friend, but my thoughts are still private. Thank you for everything, grandma. I love you.

Out of all the songs deadmau5 has made, this is my favorite. Forget the dancing, forget the fist pumping. This is that rare feeling that you get only when you know nothing can harm you, and that you're proud of who you are. And I'd say that's a hell of a lot better than dancing.

This makes me remember allot of things... When I needed to put my dad in jail because of my mom... When my dad cried in front of me and said he will love me forever... When he tried to buy anything he could for me... I am legit crying.. It makes me realize that my life is wrong, I tought this was normal when this happened. I remember fighting on the phone and screaming, loud, loud screaming. Me crying in my room all alone, nobody with me. eating chocolate and staring at the wall. I also remember when my boyfriend kissed his best friend in front of me... My only friend, the only one I loved. All gone in one second, being depressed the next day. Cutting myself... Feeling useless, that leads me to the internet. To find people that care, to find songs like this... Thank you... Thank you for this song, and thank you for reading..

I used to live north of Paris (I now live in Belgium). There has been many terrorist attacks there recently and my parents worried about my safety there. They wanted me to leave there. So I would travel to parts of Europe to see what place I would move there. The last day I was in Paris, I listened to this song, knowing that I would have to leave a place that I have stayed for many years. Almost 2 years ago, I lost a close friend of mine, due to him overdosing on alcohol and drugs, this made me very sad as a person, me losing a close friend is something I never imagined would happen at such a young age, life since then has been very different, more ups than downs though, and that all thanks, to one person, this person, I met 4 months ago, made my life a lot happier than it used to be, mainly her caring and kidness is what made me really like her, and I can't see a life without her, because she is that important to me, she did things for me, that no one else did, everyone failed to make me feel happy, except her, she is by far the most amazing human I've ever met, because the things she did, also means a lot for the people around me, before I met her, people would mostly see me sad and depressed, but now, people see me, happy, and thankful for living this life I am living Karla, I love you, so so much, you did so so much for me, and even when we don't talk, you do a lot for me, because I know, you love me, for who I am as a person, you are extremely special and worthy to me, te amo mucho, mi amor

This reminds me of the fact that I'll never be able to go back to memories, you think about them and you get happy because you remember how wonderful they were but you really want to do them again so you realize you can't. And then it hits you that every good thing that happens in your life can't be re-visited, and every time you try it just makes you long for better times even more. You can't remake something as beautiful as a good memory, but you can always look at them again, some of the most beautiful things in life cannot be touched or bought or even seen. Some things are just so perfect that they are just there to remind you that you are never going to acheive happieness out of things, and I know this sounds cheesy but it's true. If it wasint for these things no matter what they are, the world would not have value.

And now... A little poetry. With the mist that covers my feet, the friends that I hold dear, one day again we'll meet, and burst to tears, allow me the chance to see that who you were then is truly to be. Is this you? Is this the ice or the storm? If not you then who? The ice we see is cold in form. This is the mist which covers my feet, my soul. Is it you my friend? Have you come with dice, yet again to roll?
