Deadmau5 should make a single album dedicated to different versions of this song. Just one version blending into the next. The album cover should be a giant catapult with a cat standing on the edge of the basket, and Deadmau5 sneaking up the other side getting ready to pull the trigger...

ok, ill say it. This is the best deadmau5 track of all time, strobe be damned. its like a refined amazing version of Some Chords, for some reason this chord progression just rocks my world. i hope to see it on the next album

Sitting and listening to this with good headphones on high is incredible. It's a shame this wasn't the final version. This is one of deadmau5's better songs. But that's not to say that he had any bad ones, either. I can only think of two that I didn't like, but it was the vocals that ruined both of them.

3,5 years later I want to say thanks for plugging this. It's really beneficial for people having a go at music production, as well as fans to be able to have a look at music in differing stages. I think this version was scrapped as it doesn't lead anywhere. There isn't sufficient content to keep me interested. It's basically just one long buildup. Anyways, thanks again. Much appreciated.

I agree, while the intro phrase is enchanting and promising, the rest falls flat. I suppose Joel is very demanding of himself so I get why he wasn't satisfied with this one.

Just discovered this amazing track. Been on repeat for the last 2 days. That dreamy melody belongs in a movie scene where the main protagonists are getting ready to do something badass. Makes me want to get back into video editing again. Love it when music inspires and invigorates!

I always associate this song with deep depression that I went through in 2016 when this came out. Brilliant song but brings back one of the worst years of my life. I spent way too much time with the wrong people (awful people) that year. Thanks for keeping this vastly superior original version alive man! :)

I feel like the albumn version was rushed and isnt complete. If you ask me and many others its one of deadmau5s less impressive tracks. Dont get me wrong it sounds good but its nothing compared to this and some of his others. This one is incomplete as well in my opinion but its closer to complete than what he did with the albumn version and sounds better.

@@ovenheating9482 funny thing, the album version of Cat Thruster is what got me interested in deadmau5 music in general. My only complaint is that album version feels a bit too static in terms of sound. Still, it's my favorite so far. Depends on what you're looking for in music I guess. Cheers.

A lot of people are assuming this was the case. I don't have a confirmation of it, but I personally think they just so happen to sound alike. He probably just likes the style and wanted something like it again on his newest album.

TheMan4407 Both are great in their own ways. The chord progression makes less of an impact in this one, but this version has a more driving beat and takes up more sonic space.
