The bald lady is Cassandra Nova. She's... well it's honestly ridiculously complicated. In very, VERY basic terms she is Professor X's evil twin. I'm sure the movie will explain everything else you need to know.

I think it’s kind of funny they’re neighbors and friends in real life. I can just imagine them at a barbecue together, and Reynolds trying to lure Jackman out of retirement.

Liefelds only feet shop. Awesome. Rob created Deadpool and is notorious for doing anything to avoid doing feet. Body obscuring, smoke clouds cropped panels etcetera.

The villain is Cassandra Nova. Xaviers twin sister who tried to kill him in the womb by strangling him with the umbilical cord. He fought her off with his nascent psychic powers and she was stillborn as a result. She survived as a cluster of cells clinging to a sewer wall however. Grant Morrison's New X-Men was great.

X-Men '97 is fantastic, absolutely worth watching! I didn't rewatch the original series, but it wasn't a problem, even if I don't remember much of it.

The simple and weird explanation of the bald lady is she's Cassandra Nova and was essentially a space demon who took the form of a twin in the womb with Xavier with the intention of replacing him. Baby Xavier killed her in utero. Then, she came back still evil but actually believed herself to be his twin sister and wanted revenge. She then killed millions of mutants. So, Xavier's evil twin basically.

This will be the first film I see in a movie theater since Spider-Man: No Way Home. Since the pandemic, it has been difficult for me to feel comfortable going to a theater. However, I am going to use this film as my motivator to finally get back out in to the world and enjoy movies again.

whom they made the first x-man (1000 years ago!) hardly anyone imagined that the previously unknown Hugh Jackman would become the face of the franchise! 😊❤

As others have pointed out, the bald woman is Cassandra Nova, essentially Xavier's evil twin sister of sorts. This version of Cassandra Nova is almost certainly from a timeline where she instead killed Charles in the womb. After which, she was ultimately pruned by the old TVA. We know she was pruned by the TVA, because she and the others are in the "Void" where all pruned stuff goes to eventually be erased by Alioth. All of the wasteland shots are in that realm, and that's where Ant-Man's giant body is. Pruned along with whatever timeline that happened in. We know Ant-Man's body is in that place because when DP and Wolvie are jumping into the portal, they're jumping from Ant-Man's left eye socket, and when the perspective flips behind them, Alioth is in the background coming for them. And...honestly, it just makes sense with all the random shit in the wasteland, and the involvement of some version of the TVA. Now...all of that could be clever editing to make it LOOK like something it's not, just like how the portal doesn't show a destination and is just flat-white. Or it could be that whole scene doesn't exist at all and is just there to throw everyone off. But...I don't really think so. Ryan is smart about marketing, and I get the impression from the tone and content that he had a big hand in how this trailer got put together. I think the scene is in the movie, and I think it hasn't been altered at all except for hiding what's on the other side of the portal. Sadly, I'm concerned that the TVA we see in this isn't Loki's TVA...but rather what the TVA was BEFORE Loki. Which...really sucks. But, at the same time, they're attempting to preserve a timeline that clearly isn't the Sacred Timeline (there's NO fucking way Deadpool is part of the Sacred Timeline), so I'm confused as to what's going on. But, we'll find out.

I wouldn't worry about getting caught up on Marvel's last phase. I'm sure they'll explain enough for people who tuned out to get it. If you feel you HAVE to get some context, I suggest only two things as possibly crucial - Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Loki seasons 1 and 2. These set up some crucial world-building AND are also some of the best things Marvel Studios have done so far, so not a chore.

You don't really need to catch up with the MCU to see this movie. All you really have to watch is the Loki Series. If you are at least up to Avengers Endgame then you are good.

The only thing that disappointed me is that it is not July 26th right now. Just the bits they gave us between the two previews now and imagining what else is in store. I'm a big X-Men dork since childhood though so they don't have to try too hard but they are delivering the goods here. This movie will save the MCU, and so many easter eggs and cameos in this trailer, first is Jason Flemyng as Azazel from x-men first class, Kelly Hu returns as Lady Deathstrike fom X-men 2. There was a another figure in the background that could be Calisto, and Casandra Nova, and we see Wade and Logan going through a Doctor-Strange portal. We also see a modified version of Red Skull car, The Alioth from Loki Series, and the sign that says Liefeld´s that is a reference of the creator of Deadpool Rob Liefeld. Can wait for this.
