Жыл бұрын

Keith Moon's legacy is one of both brilliance and tragedy. He was a gifted musician who helped to define the sound of the Who. But, he was also a troubled man who struggled with addiction and self-destructive behavior. Keith Moon died on September 7, 1978, at the age of 32, and was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
Welcome to "Dead Rock Stars," where we celebrate the lives and legacies of influential musicians who have left us too soon. We explore how these rock stars shaped our musical landscape, their contributions to our culture, and their impact on the world.
Join us on a journey through time, from the early days of rock and roll to the present, as we dive deep into the lives of legends like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, and more. With each episode, we'll take a close look at their music, lifestyles, and the events that led to their untimely deaths.
Our mission is to educate and inform our audience about these musicians and their impact on the world of rock. By understanding their stories, we can better appreciate their music and how they changed the world.

Keith Moon is the greatest drummer ever ever. He took the drums from the back of a rock band and pushed it down our throats. He made us notice the drummer. And God he is still the greatest drummer ever. And I hate when they don't explain why he was taking the medicine that killed him. To help him stop drinking. That Dr should never have given him all of those pills. You have to be in a hospital or rehab now to be given that medication. Paul McCartney was with Kieth and his girlfriend that night. He said Keith was doing great didn't have anything to drink. Now days want Keith Moon had was addictive disorder. He was going to be fighting it his whole life. I miss Keith I was 18 years old when he passed away. I still remember when I first heard it. He was and will always be the greatest drummer ever in rock and roll.

Moon was able to fill in spaces in songs like no one else I've heard. There's faster, more technical, more fluid even, but how he contributed to a song beyond just supplying a beat, puts him near the top of a very short list of drummers imo.

A kid got up on stage and easily replaced him one night. He's no John Bonham
@jefferyroy2566
@jefferyroy2566 11 ай бұрын
@@markfrost2707 "...easily replaced him." For a single performance, that is. There must be thousands of drummers who, at any given time, could replace any number of great drummers if they had prior experience with the set list. I don't buy any GOAT declarations for athletes, musicians, and other public performers. Bonham was unusually physical with his drums, and would rather stick with the skins than the cymbals. Moon was all over his kit, and often "conspired" with Entwhistle to steal the lead from Townsend. There was a lot more tension among members of The Who than Zeppelin, and that was a factor in their brilliance. The Who came up together while the members of Zeppelin, particularly Plant and Bonham, seemed to magically fall into place. The Who had to distinguish themselves from other British Invasion bands, and achieved that with "Tommy." Zeppelin burst onto the scene with enormous impact, despite withering reviews from the bible of American counterculture, Rolling Stone. Both groups were essential to what made the post-blues/psychedelic period of British rock so transformative. Their drummers were big contributors to their iconic standings as groundbreaking artists, whose influences persist to this day. Arguments over who was better are inevitable, but that's part of the fun, isn't it?

We used to just call it hyper active or excitable...generally harmless...but the big pharma expert trucks came to town to have you pay them to stop being yourself...it's a good thing Moony never had to deal with that lot in their overwhelming prescription suggesting form today.. Just a personal opinion and observation on the greedy need to constantly rename naturally occurring mannerisms of individuals for the sake of filling one's pocket with the "dough". But if one feels the need then certainly one can make the choice To become more like the rest of the world. In my opinion individualism is one of the best parts of being human and most certainly in Moon's case. I know I would probably like him less if he was a zombie like say Charlie watts or any number of other boring drummers. His eratic and chaotic behavior Was just a joy to witness. RIP
