I live in western Ky and these fuckers and most of my family are like “go mitch!” They legit believe McConnel or anyone else can “bring back coal” despite it disappearing under anyone and everyone regardless of EPA or party regulations/beliefs. Coal isn’t competitive anymore- nuclear has always been more efficient and is getting safer. Gas is cheaper and more abundant than previously thought. GMO food crop produces a natural gasoline analog. Kinetic based-Wind, Solar and Kinetic based-Water is hella abundant *location oending. On top of all of that shit, the entire state is basically a giant fucking sinkhole from rapid strip mining. A large majority are unemployed, mostly young people, and the largest state exports are Methamphetamine and Marijuana- both of which are illegal but thats all the skills most people around here fucking have. Of the two jobs I’ve worked (starting at 16, haven’t worked in about a year, totaling to about four years experience; two as a machinist general labor and two as an apprentice electrician. Both were 45 minutes away, one in Elkton, Ky (next to Hopkinsville TN) next was in Princeton, Ky

As shitty as the government shutdown was at least some of them could still work and they weren't going to lose their lives maybe outside of their health insurance getting dropped. They literally *all* read cue cards - that's how SNL works. Keenan's just had a lot of practice at hiding it, but even then you can often see him looking at them in various sketches.
