The unfortunate hubris of his statement is that he doesn't actually mean it. What he's really saying is, "We are leftists who recognize that we need to move corporate America left, or the government will take control of us. And we will lose our money." Obviously they didn't see the people voting with their wallets to the extent they have in the last few months.

Unfortunately, I think the collapse of these companies are planned and expected so the money is more concentrated at the top while the lowly workers are pushed out. Industry can then corner the market with their view of how it's "supposed to be" paying what they want....if anything.

I understand his viewpoint in why we need to open the employment landscape to minorities (i.e. increased diversity). I don't agree that they get to set the societal norms that we have to live with (pushing LGBTQ+ onto children). If we do not then we lose our jobs, our businesses, and even go to jail. Fortunately, we, in the United States, can vote through our dollars as Bud and Target are learning.

I consider myself to be somewhere in the centre politically, I find these people to be extremely frightening, the power they have over people's lives is terrifying. With recent events happening in the gaming and entertainment sector its all starting to make sense now. These guys may not be directly responsible for specific social directional pushes, but their influence has inspired and empowered the extremes of society, specifically the far left, this in turn has fired up the far right, and you can see it globally as more countries vote in more extreme right wing governments. I see this behaviour being detrimental to society, people are starting to see they are not in control of their own lives, nobody likes or wants that. What these people don't understand is what's actually happening on the ground, they don't live in our world, they live in a world of wealth and privilege, completely detached from reality.
