Sometimes life is hard. There’s nothing we can do to avoid that, but it doesn’t make it easier at the time. I think we have to try and find relief wherever we can, I need to go outdoors and be in nature. To watch the sea is a special thing. Thanks for watching.

A little about us: I adopted my ex-racing greyhound Miss Nancy three years ago, it was a massive learning curve for both of us and we have become the best of friends, who love going on outdoor adventures, wild swims, van camping and finding vegan food out and about! We make videos showing what it’s like to have a greyhound as a pet, the beautiful outdoors, vanlife, and life with a greyhound!

Tori, I always appreciate the honesty of your mood in your videos. As a middle aged man, I get slightly grumpy watching people on KZfaq who are incessantly positive and seemingly happy all the time because I appreciate honesty over that. Hopefully, Miss Nancy will begin to improve. Our little Max, the 15.5 years old Lhasa Apsos cannot walk or do anything much now, but we love him as much as ever and appreciate him every day we have him, along with his little cuddles :)

Thank you! I’m not even a middle aged man but i get grumpy with that sometimes too 🤣 I know from experience that it’s not very easy making a vlog type video if you are sad, but as you say it is honest. No one is happy all the time! I hope she will soon and I will let you all know when I have news. As long as he is still loving being with you and getting cuddles he is a lucky boy and so are you. I do still laugh about your gardening gloves story!

Sight hounds have a way into your soul and become a part of you, its hard when they leave, but knowing they shared time and you looked after each other is what life is all about. my lurcher is coming on 10years now love her to bits x

It really does, actually it amazes me, I am learned a lot at the moment. I’m having the worst time to be honest and yet I am being given such immense kindness from strangers it is very uplifting. I am so glad that my videos have brought something good to people! Thank you do much for all the donations you have made, I could not be more grateful and neither could Nancy. You are incredibly generous and kind. I have been so lucky with all the wonderful support from my subscribers what an amazing bunch of people.X

When you own a dog you can never be certain that they can’t become ill or injured, you just have to be flexible to cope with the unexpected. On Saturday my nephew took his two lurches out for a run and one suffered a serious leg injury. The leg was broken and will require surgery and 24/7 care. He has to go out to work so I am caring for her while she recovers, that’s what families are all about,you all pull together when adversity strikes and you overcome. You need to stay strong for her sake.

Wondered why we haven’t heard from you for a couple of weeks,and now I know. So sorry to hear that Miss Nancy has passed away. Me and Rosie the Lurcher with a broken leg,but well on the mend send our heartfelt condolences at this sad time for you. Time is a great healer and although she is gone she won’t be forgotten. The best thing you can do is grieve for a while then say to yourself life goes on and there will be another retired greyhound waiting out there for you to show the wonders of the world outside the race track, and there are still adventures to enjoy after retirement. Hope to hear some good news from you in the not too distant future. Love Rosie and Ian.

Thanks for being so honest. its hard to give out creatively when you feel stressed anxious or overwhelmed. So only give what you can. I love seeing the wilds of Cornwall as I moved away along time ago. Seeing the rain over the sea and hearing the wind made me feel better. My senses can get washed clean by the power of nature, I like to feel insignifican when my brain is sabotaging me!! Sending love and healing to Miss Nancy, and to you too. Take care and just watching a windy walk with nature and water lifts me up, and never mind an honest talk, honesty is what we all crave I think.

It is true, in life we suffer ups and downs but that is good because when you are up you enjoy it much more. I heal myself by listening to Armenian music or paragliding or riding my mare or I take a trip on my motorcycle for a few days in the mountains. We must keep our minds busy to scold the feelings that hurt us.

@@missnancysdayoff Yes, my hobbies are always related to nature, we are very similar. When I lived on the beach I did windsurfing for a few years and it is incredible when you sail out to sea towards the horizon you start to feel free and it seems that the problems stay on land and you smile with happiness. you are very similar to me. You are a free being without ties that breathes independently. What a shame I can't speak English so I can tell you things

Gosh, so sorry to hear about Miss Nancy Tori. You both are in my thoughts & prayers . I list my Mom last year on July 11th & prior to that my beautiful Kaila ( American Eskimo ) on May 3rd . There is no words that can ease your sorry & 😢 pain of losing both a parent & doggie . 🐶 hugs 😘😢

I'm sorry to hear Miss Nancy is unwell, those of us devoted to pets know how painful it can be. Please don't worry about expressing negative feelings and thoughts in your videos. We all have them and your audience will meet you where you are. I love being on the beach, especially at night and especially in windy conditions. It attracts a feeling of awe, of immensity. Freud called some of these mystical impressions, " oceanic feelings."

Oceanic feelings, yep those are for me. It’s like you just can’t see enough of it no matter how long you look or listen.

Hi Tori.... Even though I am a pensioner, I wanted to give towards The Go fund me and discovered it was disabled.... I fear this means Miss Nancy has gone over the rainbow. I had a rescue many years ago who was like a sister to me. When she passed I couldn't face getting another 'friend' for about 2 years but eventually realised she would have wanted me to give another soul a good home. You are a remarkable person, you don't need to do long videos, people will follow you whatever you do. I feel you have a wealth of wisdom to impart and a huge heart. Hi Tori, I wish Miss Nancy a speedy recovery and hope you are able to get some comfort from the great outdoors without her with you for now, but I know it will be tough! I've had 30 years of pet dog ownership to date, lots of dogs, lots of losses, lots of tears - but I will never be without a dog all the time I am capable of having one. They are great therapy, and it's so envigorating to get outside, whatever the weather. You mentioned concerns about uploading content at the moment, I for one will be happy just to wait until you are the right 'place' to do this, and wish you and Miss Nancy all the best 🤞 Kind regards, Trevor

Hi Trevor,thank you so much. Wow 30 year of love and loss, Nancy Drew is my first dog and I guess it’s a shock to the system just how bad it can feel. We have certainly had a very unfortunate situation to deal with, I hope I will have good news so. I appreciate that about the videos, I love making them but it can be hard!

@@missnancysdayoff Typed a reply, think I lost it before sending🤬 Some people don't get it. Dogs are more than just pets, they are family members. I would guess that the majority of your subscribers do get it, and empathise, even if they can't share the pain and grief you are experiencing. I personally take it head on - go to the places we loved to visit and share, collar and lead in hand, remembering the good times, smiling sometimes, crying my heart out at others. The smiling outweighs the crying, eventually. I hope that at some point in the future you may find a space in your heart, life and camper next to Miss Nancy, for another 'furry hot water bottle' Take care, stay safe.

It was a beautiful day wasn’t it I love the dark clouds and sea with sun at the same time it’s my favourite. @@missnancysdayoff That is exactly what it is, when we recharge it's hard to not feel like we are not doing enough. If we don't pick a good time to recharge our body/subconscious will pick for us at the worst time possible.

I grew up by the sea. I absolutely agree what you have been saying. Its unrestrained element always amazed me and healed me. I don't live by the sea anymore and I miss it. Also thanks to your video I know more than ever before I need to change it soon. Hope Miss Nancy gets better soon. Cheers from Prague, Central Europe.

You have embedded yourself in a beautiful region where "nature bathing" is easily at hand. Few people enjoy this vital therapy. Fewer still have clear (realistic) goals which are great stress removers. A lot of things can go wrong but, if you know where you are headed, you can maintain a perspective rather than falling into confusion and despair. I didn't appreciate this until I took on larger projects - building an energy positive house and trying to bring back an important species of tree almost completely lost to blight a century ago. The key is being able to apply yourself rather than being at loose ends if something goes off the rails. You have Miss Nancy as a great asset in your life but she can't be the defining aspect of it. You have gotten so many things right - where you live, the work you do, and the precious souls in your heart. Surely there is something you can undertake which will allow you to keep these things close to you while you commit to a long term project.

Nature bathing, what a lovely phrase I’ve not heard that before. Your larger projects sound brilliant I’d love to do them both! You are right of course, long term projects are tricky right now because my life has been kind of transient the past couple of years. Miss Nancy has become such a big part of it, even though i know practically she won’t be with me forever it doesn’t seem quite possible. I could do with a bit of better balance probably how to do it I am still not sure.

I watched a few of your earlier videos and your love and bond with Nancy was amazing. Now I have come across this video where people are commenting that she has passed on. I think clearly that Nancy is doing zoomies in the tall grass in the sky! And that is perfect for this lifetime! ❤❤❤

Hard times will reveal who’s really there for you. I’m thankful and grateful for them. I owe them thoroughly 💙 Pets are the same as kids ie family. Miss Nancy is blessed to have you as her Mum. Nature gives us so much perspective and comfort. (Which beach was that one? No people there! ) A big hug for darling miss Nancy. I had a rescue greyhound. She was the gentlest and sweetest dog. I know it’s usually pretty quiet out of season that was Sennen, different story in holidays i will give Miss nancy her hug thank you ☺️ oh lucky you they are such sweet dogs. Hadn’t realised til now how incredibly brave they are too. I am glad you lied the video, I wasn’t sure if it was just super depressing but it’s how things are! Hi Tori looking forward to your latest adventure. Hope it eventually will lead you to finding a new canine friend to fill the deep hole in your life at the moment. It was Rosie who broke her leg but she has made a remarkable recovery though still taking it a little easy no mad zombies with Poppy. She now has a steel splint in her £4000.00 bionic leg and can now walk on all four legs instead of hopping about on three. We all wish you the best for the future and hope you soon find a new best friend to share your future highs and lows.

Hi Tori Nearly a month since you last posted, and two weeks since you lost Miss Nancy. Hope that you can get through these sad times. Try listening to the words of the Byrds song ‘ Turn turn turn there is a season’ to maybe help lift your spirits. Spring is well underway and new life is coming into an uncertain world. The past is the past, the future begins tomorrow,with all the joy it can bring. There are a whole bunch of new adventures ahead of you and I’m sure another canine friend to share them with. Lots of love from me and the two Lurchers Poppy and Rosie.

Hello, it really has been a. while hasn’t it, worst time of my life. You are right though, I’ve been trying to get back outside, I actually have a short video that’s coming out at 5 tonight, and hopefully I will be back into a weekly routine after that. how are Poppy and Rosie was it Poppy who broke her leg? ❤️

Woolacombe in Devon is my go to and I have been there 27 out of the last 25 years , this year because of jobs to do to the house all my holiday will be taken up and I may miss my fix for my wellbeing unless I can sneak away for a weekend. The woods and forests by where I live give me great pleasure but the sea and coast add a new dimension.

I’ve never been to woolacombe I’d like to, yes absolutely the woods forests all of nature is so healing but these and coast, I think it’s having the noise of the waves as well, it’s pretty special.

My heart goes out to you.time helps us to deal with situations.and numbs the pain of stresses.and slowly.think it's great.even when you are understandingly depressed.you give good advice to go out see something beautiful.I think the sea with the dark clouds really makes a great scene,it a great place to gather your thoughts.and remember the great time you both shared.miss Nancy is so fortunate to have such a caring person who has given her a new happy lease of life. Maaaaaaan, I don't think I've ever wanted to send a virtual hug more than now - or a real hug from a friend*. You are a wonderful person that brings happiness to many of us. I am pretty certain that I know that path well, that you ran down at the beginning, and I certainly know the area well; it is beautiful and has many, many wonderful people around about. But how to find them? Get yourself in to any and every art or craft class in the area. Or computer programming, French lessons, badminton sessions - anything! Get out there and dance, whether it is on a keyboard or with a brush. Vast amounts are free, or very nearly so. I want to come down there and drag you out for an hour a week (at least): Miss Nancy will be OK *from my pov I'm a friend, I accept that from your pov I'm just another one of the many thousands that subscribe
