Dean has such a way of making everything seem so natural. Like two old friends he and Jimmy just enjoying themselves while we got to watch. Happy Trails

Isabel Beckerman I’m sorry, but I beg to differ. Whilst it’s true that Dean did make that joke on the Roast he gave for Jimmy in 1978, he also went on to say; “There are many performers in this business that we like. Jimmy his one of the rare ones that we love. He’s got that certain and honest straightforward way that lets you know that he’s one of us. And this is reflected in the way he’s lived. A heroic career in the service of his country, a wonderful family man, concerned citizen. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m so proud to have for a pal our Man of the Hour, a great American, Mr Jimmy Stewart.” That doesn’t sound ‘lukewarm’ to me...

It probably isn't known at all in 2018. Jimmy Stewart was the most popular man of the second half of the century. I'm not just talking acting, although that was the medium. Ppl loved that man like no other. Even more, just more, than Bob Hope. Deano was up there, too, but not with Hope or Stewart or a couple of others. Love Deano. Love Stewart and Hope more.

Mark Harrison everyone back then had different views on race than we do today. But it’s plain stupid to say he was a “huge racist.” It’s completely unsubstantiated.

It's so hard to explain to people born after I would guess 1980 at the least. To actually see these guys who mostly were WW2 soldiers. Just think about that, how many of today's entertainers/actors were former soldiers. I'm talking about the guys that made you able to do what you do today, even if you're a lowlife criminal!
