My Dad (R.I.P) sang and whistled just like this! And watched Westerns all the time! His favorites were the ones that had singing in them. Unfortunately he was shy and only did it around Mom, us girls, while driving, and working in his garden. The last few years of his life, I lived in the house behind him and I would sit on my porch and listen to him. Sadly, he passed away in 2008...I revisit this video when I'm missing him...

I miss all four of those guys ! Dean and Rick for their singin', Walter for......well, just being Walter [ Luke.....Little Luke.....where are you ? ] and the Duke for setting a good example of what a man should be like and being a Patriot.

My Rifle, My Pony And Me Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson The sun is sinking in the west The cattle go down to the stream The redwing settles in the nest It's time for a cowboy to dream Purple light in the canyons That's where I long to be With my three good companions Just my rifle, pony and me Gonna hang (gonna hang) my sombrero (my sombrero) On the limb (on the limb) of a tree (of a tree) Comin' home (comin' home) sweetheart darlin' (sweetheart darlin') Just my rifle, pony and me Just my rifle, my pony and me (Whippoorwill in the willow Sings a sweet melody Riding to Amarillo) Just my rifle, pony and me No more cows (no more cows) to be ropened (to be ropened) No more strays will I see Round the bend (round the bend) she'll be waitin' (she'll be waitin') For my rifle, pony and me For my rifle, my pony and me Writer(s): Paul Francis Webster, Dimitri Tiomkine --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cindy Ricky Nelson I wish I was a apple hangin' in a tree And everytime my sweetheart passed She'd take a bite off me She told me that she loved me She called me sugar plum She threw her arms around me I thought my time had come Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy I'll marry you sometime I wish I had a needle As fine as I could sew I'd sew her in my pocket And down the road I go Cindy hugged and kissed me She wrung her hands and cried Swore I was the prettiest thing That ever lived or died Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy Get along home, Cindy-Cindy I'll marry you sometime Writer(s): Paul Webster, Harry Revel

If the tv happens to find a John Wayne movie the channel doesn't move till the movies is over. Of course I love Dean Martin. His voice was so smooth. Walter Brennan looked like he was having a good time singing w Dean and Ricky Nelson. The Douck was enjoying listening to them. ♥️♥️♥️

@dp62172 жыл бұрын
@@ericcrawford3453 Eric no I don't think so. Both Dean and Ricky released this song on their own albums not as a duet. Both are also good, but nothing compares to this scene with Walter Brennan and the The Duke with the Dean ad Ricky singing. Dean was just so smooth and Ricky one of the best of the 50's and 60's. Just an amazing clip. I actually have this saved on my DVR and watch it all the time. I showed this to my teenage daughters and they loved it.

D P thank you for the info. The movie co. could have done up a nice soundtrack album with the Spanish themed orchestra song ' No Quarter ' that Gen. Maximilian played for the fellows at the Alamo like the character in the movie tells John Wayne lol anyway your rite one of the best if not the best Western ever made.
