My grandmother used to always sing me this song to annoy me, but I secretly loved it. We lost her to cancer in January, and the last few days she was on hospice and she had completely shut down and stopped talking, I would sing her this song, even though I’d never heard the real version. When my son was around 4 he loved this song. I had it on 8 track and everytime we got in the car I had to play it. He would say "birds and bees mom" it would end and I would have to go back and play it again and again. I still love it and so does he 30 years later.

Jewel Atkins had a big hit with this in 1965. But I think Dean Martin's version and this arrangement is way better. This really swings. Has better drums for one thing. And the brass arrangement is really good. Dean kills this vocal and it should have been a big single hot for him instead. My mom had this album when I was a kid 9 years old. I was impressed he did 2-3 modern songs. I thought "This guy is okay if he's willing to do some pop songs that are modern." lol
