The thing thats's so interesting is that Sam never has these moments. It's literally all Dean. It can't be written off that "oh it's just the show's humor" or "every character has those scenes it's no big deal."

Ok can we talk about how much Dean is into cowboys and doctors? There was dr sexy, when Cas pretended to be a doctor, when Cas wear the cowboy hat, the room full of cowboys in 13x06....

And not a single scene with Cas. This isn't about a ship, this is about Dean as a character.

The 'why do all these people keep thinking we're gay' line especially always stood out to me because it's exactly the sort of thing a closeted person would say. Sam didn't even care, he immediately dismissed it, but it was still on Dean's mind even that long after it had happened. He was still panicking about being assumed gay after the like 10-30 minutes it took to get settled into their room. We've all been there, we all know how it works. He's trying to deflect by pointing it out, bringing it up again so he can talk about how weird it was because 'wow that was weird huh and definitely not true!!
