I've got a later one with the plastic shroud on the chuck but it's the same back cover, fixed a broken brush spring and it's still going, it's got great power and done me well.

hi. nice video, thnx. i have similiar model, bhp454, how do you know when rotor is gone, by thickness of contacts etc?

Normaly by sound. Bit if your not sure. Run the drill for about 20 sec with no load on it. Open the back cover to see the brushes and put your finger on the centre shaft of the rotor. If it's hot the rotor is done or failing

Was about to get a new drill until I saw this. New armature £20 sorted. Thanks. I love this drill as much as my old 18v elu
