@@user-do2ev2hr7h I mean, it's a bit of a running joke that Worf is terrible at poker, often miscalling a bluff or folding when the pressure is on, Geordi swears up and down that he doesn't use his visor to see through the cards and Data similarly claims that he doesn't use his abilities to give him any advantage in the game. He could easily stack the deck or count the cards with a brain like his, but he doesn't. He's also terrible at reading people's intentions and underlying meaning. Riker is a master poker player, but beyond that, still just an average guy. They're people that *could* easily use their abilities to win the game, but they don't, most likely because they play it for fun in their off hours and want the atmosphere of their game to stay fun and loose. Despite their history, Troi cares deeply for Reg. He's a good friend to her and the last thing she wants is to see him hurt. Being told he's boring would be crushing to someone in his mental state and Troi did not like that. So she not only helped the Pathfinder project, she also threatened someone who wronged her dear friend all without raising her voice or resulting to violence.
@lauranolastnamegiven33854 жыл бұрын
"without raising her voice or resorting to violence" - no, just by threatening to use her professional position as a Starfleet shrink to have a civilian(spy working for a non-governmental entity) locked up in a mental hospital (for a bogus reason, since Leosa had exhibited no signs of mental illness, nor any sign she was a physical threat to herself or others) indefinitely... how Fascistic is that? if there's a crime on the books for what she did, charge her, arrest her (at which point, I assume they have some form of Miranda, and she would have a right to remain silent and still not talk to them), try her, convict her, & imprison her, you can't (or shouldn't be allowed to) just 'lock her away' in a mental ward, uncharged, unable to defend herself, & therefore, unable to leave (evaluations would probably decline releasing her, since she never admitted she had a problem - because she didn't - and therefore they can't start to treat her) forever, because she won't tell you what you want to know...I can't believe, & I'm really disturbed, that so many commenters to this clip think what Deanna did is so awesome and wonderful, when it's really frightening & awful
