The perfect example of romance movie. No rough sex, No lots of kissing scenes. Just two people proving that romance movie can give you chills and make you fall in love without those touchy scenes. I love the casts Amanda is such a great beautiful actress. I love her so much.

Amanda Seyfried is such an underrated actress. Her and Emma Stone are probably the two most talented actresses of my/our generation. They bring a strong sense of beauty, naturalism and emotion to every single project they've ever been involved in.

I met a guy from the military and we spent three weeks together. It was very much like Dear John. I was at work making coffees and his taxi arrived to take him to the airport. I was nervous that I wouldn't have a chance to say goodbye. I ran out in the rain and we kissed and he gave me a handwritten letter. It was so dramatic and honestly felt like straight out of Nicholas Sparks. I will miss him.

This movie always gets me. It is cheesy and all but I know the anxiety you feel with unexpected deployments, sudden changes and endless months apart. You are "forced" to go on with your life while waiting for the other person to come back and then restart your life once more. I did end my relationship after 2 years not always physically together and after 2 deployments. Somehow we met again 6 years later in the UK during a pandemic and it felt like time had not passed at all. How this movie ends makes absolute sense to me.

Having dated a female service member way before I joined the Army, I can tell you that being married to or in a relationship with any service member is rarely glamorous. At the bare minimum, your family & personal hobbies are going to take a back seat to your military career, especially if you have the level of dedication that they want you to. Being a military spouse is extremely lonely nights on end, followed be lonely days, weeks & months. And if you have kids, it involves having to play the roles of both parents, even when you know that sometimes you'll just never be able to fill all 4 shoes. It's having to convince your family that you're still married even if you've attended every holiday gathering alone for the last 3 years. It's understanding that even when your military spouse is home, doesn’t mean his mind is. His body may be tired and knowing he truly wants to see his family and spend time with them, but he desperately needs sleep. Most importantly, is being able to tell that when he steps off that plane when he comes home, that last deployment was just one of those deployments. He doesn't mean to be moody or distant, he just hasn't been able to compartmentalize all the memories & images of the deployment he just got home from. If you marry a servicemember just for the uniform, you'll never make it. There's a reason there are more military ex's than military spouses. But for those who are there to stay, they would not trade this life for anything in the world. They'll take the bad with the good every day, because they know that being a veteran isn't just their spouse's career, it's their calling.

I saw this movie yesterday. I was always crying ... this novel is very very very intense ... the best novel I've ever seen ... the end is so heartbreaking ... OMG! I spent my whole day thinking about the movie and I felt so nostalgic and sad. Who hasn't seen the movie, I advise you to see.

Dear ahana i love you 🤍 and you are the only love I have known. It’s been 3 years since our relationship ended and at times I still feel your energy which is incredibly strong. I miss you a lot, probably i can't explain exactly how much but all i can say is you are the only love i have known.

This movie to me shows me how fast life really goes by and how you can find true love so young and it can slip away so fast. I’m 25 now and I still love this movie. They fell in love young and then in the end you see how they ended up it shows me how fast life can by it’s like seconds. Love this movie

I am OBSESSED with this movie! I am NOT a Nicolas Sparks fan, but I am seeing this movie on the 5th. I think it's Channing and Amanda, they are so aesthetically pleasing together. Besides, I love romances on the beach. Also Lasse Hallström is a lovely filmmaker, he is good at balancing romance and humor, along with pulling suporting characters into the story. I don't know I'm just fasinated with this film.

Ok this is my take away from the movie. SPOIL ALERT btw. I think the story between John and his father is so much more deep thank anything. Tim was acutally a good guy and Savanah did everything she could. And as Savanah said, time always runs out... Man I told myself I wasn't going to cry... Nope I sure did.

Hoops1330 yes! i mean, obviously it was a bit upsetting when all that stuff with savannah happened, but they did all they could. they fell in love at the wrong time. love is inconvenient. that's the point. and the dad and his story made me cry more than anything else in the book.

John was alone aswell, so what did that mean, that he should have forgotten savannah. No, I don’t think so. If you love someone enough you will wait. You will make it work no matter what. She didn’t love him enough I guess. It’s true, time always runs out, but in the end they got back together. So what was the point of all that mess. If I were him I would have left her. And at the end she would have been alone again, after Tim died.
