Inspired by the "Dear Fat People" responses. I wrote an open letter to social media through SPOKEN WORD. [Subtitles Available]
We often blame technology for a lot of the problems faced in society, such as cyber bullying, vanity, insecurity. However I like to argue that the fault lies in the mentality that people adopt when they are using technology. So rather than addressing individuals I decided to address social media as an entire entity with a collective identity. I hope looking at it from this perspective, people who adopt negative personas when using social media, will acknowledge the implications their actions may have on the people on "the other side of the screen". Ultimately if the technology is stripped away, we are still mere humans beings with feelings.

I always dream to meet with you, because I am deeply inspired by your thoughts, by your voice, by your opinions. Those words are so great, is hard to say NO. Dude, dont stop producing these videos. +Suli Breaks Thanks for making these inspirational videos Suli! You're really helping to change my perspective on so many aspects of my own life. I think social media has completely deluded the meaning of the word "like". What does it even mean anymore when you hit the "like" button? What would be the equivalent of the "like" button in person if you had to say something directly to the creator? And what about the "dislike" button? What would that look like in person? It has become so easy to give our approval or disapproval of someones creation with no explanation, only the click of a button, perhaps followed by a detached comment. It is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. These are the kinds of questions you make people think about Suli, I love it. Keep doing what you do please ! :) Have an awesome day! While I found "Dear Fat People" to be absolutely ridiculous and disgusting, I love how you chose to make a different point relating to it, one that I have wished to convey for so long. We really do need to change the way we use social media and technology. As always, this poem was amazing. The topics you choose are always fantastic. You inspire me in my writing a lot, great job Sulli.

I was one of those people that commented on one of your videos. I said "you really need to be careful what you say". But, you reminded me, you are a human, I am a human. How could I have just expected anyone just to address my own views, at the time. Great video. I will also just advise everyone on here to watch Human Volume 1 on KZfaq. It is inspiring.

Sully...this was a truly amazing video which gets a lot of people thinking and reflecting and it had that exact effect on me...I'm not saying I use social media in the wrong way but I was just thinking about what I do on social media and how I could better my self...keep up the inspiring and brilliant work...and as Yousef Erakat says...don't let the grind stop

I totally lived this! thank you for it! I got out of using social media only a year into it for all these reasons! that was back in 2010! one day I realized that I was thinking in Facebook status updates and ended it right then and there.

I believe he is the best spoken word person in the world. I agree with all his videos and the words he uses. I don't know if he writes these himself or if someone else does but the way he expresses it, it just makes you feel inspired or motivated by the words.

I often come across spoken word, which educates and some that inspires. yours always do both. Theres no ego, theres no preaching. you say things like they're just your opinion and that were free to believe them if we want to. keep it up suli. hopefully spoken word will have a bigger place in mainstream society and people can learn. I watched your video about exam results the other day in my English class and it was amazing I had recently seen it a long time before that but it refreshed me and I've been going through a battle with my school about dropping out and there doing everything in their power to keep me there so they came to the solution to put me on a program called life skills and can I just say it is the best thing that's happened because I don't get an Atar I don't have to worry about my exams I don't get a percentage at the end of the year but I get my graduation certificate but it still feels wrong my place isn't at school there's no point in me being there because I'm getting no qualification. But I'm being made complete ur 12 and graduate by my mother and I also attend a private school that $7000 a year that's $7000 my mum doesn't have that she is struggling to provide for our family it's ridiculous the stuff they expect us to learn these days. Anyway I just want to say your videos are amazing.
