Hi Shaun! I don’t think it was pandering, you saw a large specific audience and you did the logical thing!!!! Since I live in the US and have traveled through the country, I’ve always wanted to see your Scottish travels! I’ve visited Scotland twice and lived in the UK for 3 years. I love Outlander and hopefully you’ll be able to go more Outlander vlogs when they start filming again. My ancestors were Erskines so I also have a Scottish connection. I’d love to see you travel to the continent since I can’t do that now. I love your passion for the US and you should always follow that too!!!! Much love and support from Florida! Laurie Freese

I do love seeing how people from other countries experience the U.S. and hearing their perspectives-it helps me to see my home country through new eyes, too. However, I also love learning about new places and traveling vicariously through others! I love to see your own home country and the passion and excitement you have for it. And I would love to see your adventures traveling to other countries. Make the videos YOU want to make and are excited and passionate about, and the viewers will come.

Shaun, i never felt like there was any pandering coming from you. However, i knew because of the pandemic, the vids had to change a bit. I noticed, but i knew it was temporary because that's just how life is: we have to adapt. But we keep coming back to your channel because of you! Your enthusiasm and desire to learn and share different cultures with us is very contagious. Even though i like the American vids because you go places in my own nation that i can't go, my heart still yearns for those Scottish vids. They're beautiful and true to life, like yourself. That's why they are my favorite vids of all. You must do what's right for yourself and we will follow! 😊

I’m not an “OG”. I found you about a year ago. I was very fortunate to visit Scotland in 2017. Loved exploring your beautiful country. I enjoy watching you as you explore the US - it gives me a perspective of things that I tend to take for granted. BUT, I would love watching your videos on your home country, especially during this pandemic. I always hoped to be able to return to Scotland, but I’m not getting any younger. I’m a 67 year old granny of five. So keep up your good work. I will continue to watch your videos. And even if I don’t get back to Scotland I look forward to you sharing your perspective of your visit to the US. ❤️

I've enjoyed the historical aspects of the videos. I enjoy learning something that isn't taught in books and so forth. It makes it more interesting to hear details that you don't hear from other sources. I love the raw, reality and straightforwardness that includes the good, the bad, and the ugly. You truly don't learn anything if you only hear the good side of things. That's what draws me to watch

I like Tom Pool's perspective on this kind of thing. He knows for instance that if he posts a video about UFOs it won't get as many views as his political commentary, but he'll do it anyway because he enjoys it despite it not being in his normal routine. I think you have to do what you enjoy so you sleep better at night and don't burn out.

I started watching your channel a couple of years back to get some insider tips on where to visit in Scotland. It was a great move, I showed my cousins that live in Scotland things that they didn't know about - like the wee suspension bridge near Ullapool and the Fairy Pools on Skye. That is much more interesting than watching you eat American chips. Glad that you're returned to normal. I'll keep watching.

You mentioned the word that many creators forget about “pivoting” it’s a must in any endeavor. You have to try new things and test the waters to introduce new things to your repertoire, but if you pay careful attention you will find that pivoting in a different direction or even back to where you started is integral to success, as long as you have purpose. Also, let’s be honest, the pandemic I. The early months was SCARY, you needed content that kept you safe so we don’t blame you. Take care!

To be a youtuber is to create, to be in love with and find joy in what you share with your audience. I started following you because of Outlander, and stayed because of your motto "Adventure Everything". And while the pandemic put a halt on travel, you created and shared from what you had on hand. And you may have defaulted to "top 10" or "the difference between" ...which quite frankly is what "that other guy" does (which is why I don't follow him)...you made it fun, you did, you really did. Never doubt that. I loved your unboxings of what fans have sent you. That shows how you inspire...not on the grand scale...but how you touch our souls on a basic everyday level. Not all of us are travelers, some are happy homebodies. So please don't discount everything that you have brought to the screen under these unusual circumstances. Now...get out there and embrace and adventure EVERYTHING!! ❤

YOU are the reason most people subscribe to your channel I think, not the content of each video. You have such a love for Scotland and you bring it to your viewers, while also celebrating other cultures through a Scottish person's experiences. That's what people love I think. For me personally, I feel connected to a part of myself (I know very little about) through your videos, and I could listen to you talk for hours. Stay true to what makes you happy.

Hi Shaun! I found your account through your tours of Scotland, and those are the ones I always go back to. You always seemed happy in them, and that’s part of the enjoyment of watching. Thanks for showing me so much of Scotland when I couldn’t go and see it for myself :)

I somehow found your videos one day, and the first ones I saw were in Scotland. That has been my dream trip, but wasn’t able to go this year. So, loving all of your videos!

Finally! Drones again. It made me smile to think...no more rehashed USA video. The first time was great but it was getting really old. 😁

This is fantastic news! I've been subbed to your channel for years and have always enjoyed your content especially your Scottish vlogs but I also enjoy your travel vlogs as I get to see different parts of the world through your video's so thank you for sharing. What does that mean for your second channel though? What type of content will you upload there? :)

Shaun, I have always been here because of you and your passion and love for life that comes through so well in your vlogs. I also happen to be fascinated with Scotland, the U.K. and parts of Europe in general. It’s not easy for me to travel but I get a lot of enjoyment in having a true Scotsman show me around. I think you need to do what you are passionate about because that’s what makes your vlogs unique and exciting. Keep up the great work stay true to yourself!!

YAY Shaun! I'm so happy you're going to go back to more of your amazing travel/Scotland/adventures! There's nothing wrong with the occasional Top 10 list, but you are such an excellent vlogger that I very much missed your usual content. Right now, being stuck at home, it's even more appreciated. What I like most about your work, though, is how you make it personal. And, of course, your production value is top shelf. Adventure Everything!

It’s always good to experience other cultures. That’s called ‘branching out.’ I admire your dedication to share your roots as well. Your roots keep your culture alive. Thank you, Shaun. You’re a good person and that in itself is admirable.

Glad you're addressing this. I've personally been put off watching your videos for a while. However, for the reasons you've mentioned, it's understandable. As a Scot (born and raised) now living in the US, I did reach out to you a number of times asking if you'd like to collaborate; I also recommended New Jersey as an important historical location for Scots that settled here but you seem to be more preoccupied with the South. Soccer (association football) was established in the US in New Jersey. Anyway, I'm trying to provide constructive criticism here simply because I want you to be successful not because I want to be negative. All the best and if you want to talk reach out and it will be my pleasure.

Try not to worry too much. KZfaq is weird, fame is weird, views are weird. I think the most successful and happy people are those who do what they want to do and follow their passion. My favorite (US viewer) videos from you are your exploration of fun places that I've never seen and great info about your local areas.

I could not have asked for a better video from you!!! Scotland is what I want to see and I love when you take us to all the places you love to visit in Scotland. I'm planning a trip to Scotland in 2021 and I have a notebook of places that you have shown on your channel where I want to go. So many of those places would have been missed if I hadn't seen you sharing vlogging about them!! Thank you for going back to your roots!! 😊❤️

So glad to hear you are going to go back to your previous style vlogs. Always love to see the vids from around the world, but yes I was filtering what I watched over the last year. Scotland is such a lovely place with so much history. The historic buildings, amazing engineering feats, and simply the most amazing scenery. Travel anywhere, but we appreciate the authenticity! Beautiful country and lots of us with Scottish heritage and pride.

Scotland is the only thing on my bucket list and it's not looking likely that I'll ever get there, but I can experience it through your videos. I enjoyed your other videos also, and don't think you were pandering, it's always interesting to hear someone else's perspective. I'm looking forward to tagging along (online) on your adventures and seeing some drone footage.

I found your channel originally because of Outlander, I loved seeing your Beautiful Country and all the places you have travelled. I admit I was looking forward to seeing bison chase you at Yellowstone. They chased my Granny cause she got too close with a camera. I did love the Iceland ones too. I may never be able to visit other lands, but thru your videos, I feel I walked there, smelled the air, and seen the Wonders. Hey everyone tries too hard sometimes.. it'll be ok.. you're a great video/short film blogger..keep it up..

American girl here, married to Scottish guy, living in USA. I recently lost my husband to cancer and have been coming here to" visit" Scotland. I ache for a visit; until I can travel, your videos soothe this heartbroken soul. Love your channel and looking forward to more views of Scotland. Thank you for sharing.

However, I have really enjoyed your travel videos of other countries too (ad I mosy likely will never be able to visit any of them)! Do what makes you happy Shawn. Stay true to you!!!
