When that ending screen came on.. I never wanted to leave the game. I never wanted to grow up. I would get all these feels about friends and what itd be like if I lost them... and I did. now all I can do is remember them, But I have my new friends now. and they'll never leave.. I just sometimes wish I was a kid again raging and taking turns trying to beat Riku, and after each turn we would all shout in a funny tone from annoyance saying "there's no way you're taking kairis heart!" lol... man.. I kind of do miss them.. I wonder what they're up to now.. Had so many memories with them and this game.. Thanks KH.. for the greatness and feels.

I actually attempted suicide a couple of times in my teen years. but then I remembered this song and KH in general and realize how much happiness i had as a kid. honestly KH saved my life, there is no doubt about that in my mind.

Here in 2021. Listening to this and reading the comments from 5 years ago moved me emotionally in a very weird way. As a kid, I was shy and didn’t bother hanging out with other kids. Anyway, I used to watch this show House of Mouse on tv. So one day my pa bought this game because it had Goofy on the cover. I remember going home after school to play KH with my brothers, getting excited every time we unlocked a key blade or traveled to a new world, raging over tough boss fights, wandering around in Tarzan land, and beating up heartless… wow I missed those days and I can’t help but tear up as I write this. Hearing this song takes me back to those summer nights I spent playing this game. Let me set the mood. It was 2009, 1 am on a hot June night, I waited 3 hours for my parents to fall asleep. Once I was sure they were, I would sneak downstairs. There in the dark living room, sat my silver PS2, inviting me to turn the game on. I would sit on the carpeted floor cross legged, surrounded by two couches on both sides and a living room chair behind me. I turned on my PS2 and waited for the game to load... white screen flashed on the screen and the theme would play 0:00 There was nothing like it... Oh how I wish to go back to those simpler times.

For a long time I ever found anyone who liked Kingdom Hearts so in 3rd grade I would wake around the playground and imagine Kairi with me and we singing Together in 4th grade I met a sweet boy and he knew it and we both became close friends and we called each other Sora and Kairi and we were great friends thank you Sora and Kingdom Hearts and Kairi you really are my best friend ❤️❤️.

This title theme set the tone for the game especially first playing the game. Makes you so eager to play through the game. So nostalgic, very bitter sweet feeling.. neutral feelings. You feel happy to hear it and reminisce about the good times at the same time a bit saddening knowing you will never get those moments back. But hey lifes goes on so just be happy we got to play such a great game and share our great memories of it :)

Kingdom Hearts. It was a mysterious game to me as a 6 year old because I didn't know how to get off the island. The game, and this song especially, now hits VERY differently once I completed it at 20 years old. Very good game, easily in my top 10, but to think I had the chance to experience it in my childhood 14 years ago...

We didn't know we were making memories... we just thought we were playing a game. Now, about 15 years later, I have a hard time hearing this song without at least a few tears escaping. This game gave me so much. It brought me so much closer to my siblings and myself, and taught me the importance of friends that will devote themselves to you. This game was the beginning of my understanding of love and selflessness, as well as what it means to have, and lose, humanity. This game is more than just a game. "...I've been having these strange thoughts lately... like, is any of this real? ...or, not?" I miss the days when this was my life. When this game consumed me and my little child life. I miss the days when there was nothing to worry about but saving Kairi and the other princesses. To be a kid again...

6yrs later & I'm back here! Just going thru ancient relics during my era.

Everytime I hear any version of Dearly Beloved, from KH1 to the swing version in Melody of Memory, I always think about my life leading up to now-the friends I’ve made in the past, as well as the ones who are still in my life and the new ones I’ve made, along with the memories I’ve made and are currently living through. Friendship means a lot to me, and that being a major theme in Kingdom Hearts is something I’ve always adored.

(As of 3/28/2021): Happy 19th birthday Kingdom Hearts and thanks for getting me (and I feel like plenty others) through some tough times. Here’s to more years of great experiences to come. May our hearts be our guiding keys everyone :)
