Every mystery has the same purpose: to prove the author can outsmart and misdirect the reader while giving away enough clues to let the reader solve it before the end of the book. I'm with you, though, in that it's not an exercise I enjoy, so they all seem the same to me too.

I thought the same. And I still think it. And I still want to watch it because I'm fine with Mandy Patinkin as "not" Hercule Poirot and since it isn't a direct remake things can change. A decent puzzle and good acting really is all you need for these movies. I think Glass Onion proved that.

It’ll be interesting to watch this - most actors who play ‘the eccentric detective’ usually have to play up to the role, acting more oddly than they would normally. For Patenkin, though, I suspect it was more of a matter of him turning the volume down on his own odd behaviors!!

Amazing pilot.First time for such a long time that a series made that.I mean the last 4-5 years I just start something to watch and get bored easily.Clasic mystery story but very well written at least the pilot raised that feeling of something special. Expectations already 😂.Plus that plays Mr Gideon if I am saying it correctly from his famous old series
