Mothra vs Rayquaza is by far Mothra's best matchup. Both are ancient sky-flying kaiju seen as guardians of the planet, usually protecting Earth from creatures of the land and sea (Groudon/Kyogre and Godzilla) and evil space invaders (Deoxys and King Ghidorah).

Honestly, I personally think Gyaos vs Skullcrawler works better for Gyaos Two ravenous monsters who both originate from islands who laid dormant underground for years on end, both having the capability to ravage and destroy entire ecosystems in the matter of weeks. Both were originally driven underground by the protagonist Kaiju (Gamera and Kong), where they would stay until, several decades later, modern human actions would force them to reawaken and come out of hiding. Both species would rampage, killing and eating multiple people left and right, only being held back by the protagonist kaiju. Later, it would be revealed that they have a larger, more powerful variant (The Hyper Gyaos and The Big One/Ramarak). These powerful variants would attack and nearly kill the protagonist kaiju, and were only defeated when the Protagonist Kaiju had help from humans. Both would later return a second time in their series, but would be killed even harder and in more glorious fashion than last time in order to set up a larger and much more imposing threat (Iris and MechaGodzilla). Yes, Dagahra is the more thematic match, but this is my preferred because it feels like a matchup for both Gyaos and The Skullcrawler. When I think of Gyaos, I don't think of a man-made organism gone wrong, I think of a ravenous, bloodthirsty, unstoppable monster that will kill and consume anything in sight, much like the Skullcrawler. And, of all of Gyaos's options, this fits him the best for me. And, thematics and fitting aside, this could genuinely be one of the more brutal and downright savage episodes of Death Battle, with both getting more and more vicious the more the fight goes on. As for Dagahra, I personally prefer Manda. Yes, it’s a similar situation as Gorosaurus vs The Vastatasaurus Rex where it’s technically a same series matchup despite one character being more known for a different appearance, but it feels more natural and befitting of the two. And Dagahra has Wojira (Ninjago) as another option, but I am not even gonna try to support any alts for the combatants of my most wanted (Kyogre vs Wojira) except for (maybe) Kyogre vs Chaos, but Chaos can fight Zygarde, Battra, or Biollante Also, I personally think that Titanosaurus has better in Gorgo and Kong has better in Zeke Yaeger/The Beast Titan (Attack On Titan)

I know the series is still currently running but from what we've seen so far. Controller X vs Staceaser from Zenkaiger could be pretty fun also. Imagine an army of Kaijus vs an army of Super Sentai Mechas. That just sounds so chaotic and fun. Agent Smith probably has the better connection though but Stacey could be a great alternative

I think Legion vs Megaguirus is a better match up for both of them. The connections are ;two giant insect queens that consume/absorb energy, are cruel compared to other kaiju (just try to tell me that Legion stabbing Gamera with her massive spikes and red lasers that go through him wasn't cruel) and command large swarms of their kind. Both of them can fly though Legion lost it's wings before it fought Gamera directly. As for their size, it wouldn't feel too out of place for Megaguirus to fight something larger than her because she is as long as Godzilla 2000 is tall which is 50 meters and the heisei Gamera is 60 meters tall. It fits Legion better than Hedorah because the swarms of Legion creatures don't combine into one like Destroyah or Hedorah's fragments, the queen was always this big and it was always one creature. And it fits Megaguirus better because Meruem is so much smaller and weaker than Megaguirus.

Titanosaurus Vs. Muruchi could also work. Both are similar looking sea kaiju who were peaceful until an outside event caused them to be aggresive (Titanosaurus being mind controlled, and Muruchi enacting revenge for the murder of his owner)

Biollante and Iris is also another good match for each other. Giant monsters with tendrils who came to be as a result of family tragedies being related. Iris being fueled by Ayana's anger and hatred for Gamera due to him accidentally killing her parents, Dr. Shiragami trying to bring his daughter Erika back by using plant cells splicing her DNA with them. Both have spiritual links to girls, Ayana for Iris, Erika for Biollante and have ties to the titular monsters, Iris having been created by the same civilization who made Gamera, Biollante having Godzilla's DNA.

I didn't think of a lot of these match ups, honestly. Rodan vs Gyaos is probably my most wanted match up. I was thinking Baragon could fight Gomora from Ultraman for a more thematically appropriate fight ( horned, subterranean brown dinosaurs), and then titanosaurus could fight Zedus (the monster toto fought) since there both amphibious dinosaurs

For Shin Godzilla after I thought about it Dehaka from StarCraft 2 would actually be a pretty decent match. Both are ancient monsters that start as smaller creatures but evolve and grow over time (Shin by changing to his environment and what attacks him, while Dehaka grows and evolves by devouring the essence of opponents it's killed), it's not much but I think it would be a very cool fight (there's probably stuff I missed too).

Looking back on some of these a year later, there are better match ups for Godzilla Kaiju. For example, Showa era Mechagodzilla vs King Joe/King Joe Black. I honestly think this match up is a really fun idea where Mechagodzilla is just fighting hordes of King Joe with it's arsenal. another thing I feel like King Ghidorah should fight Zetton as they're both big bads of their series (Showa Era Godzilla and the original Ultraman.) like yes on paper Zetton is similar to Megalon, but it doesn't feel right for the characters.

This was a pretty cool video and I liked how there were non kaiju based characters added like characters from Pokemon, Transformers and Danny Phantom. I'd say my only dissapointment, that doesn't affect my opinion of the video, was just curious if they'd show up and they didn't, is there were no matchups for the Toho King Kong, the Monsterverse one and Zilla Jr. For the first two, I just wanted to see more Kongs because I suddenly got this weird obssession with different versions of King Kong after buying a figure of the original Kong so I was curious on possible pairings for the original Kong that fought Godzilla and the Monsterverse version that I really find awesome. For Zilla Jr, I really like the idea of this Kaiju because it takes the shitty American Godzilla we originally got and makes their child awesome and actually worthy of the name since they're bigger, actually has powers, doesn't flee from the military and fights other giant monsters and is apparently the same size as some versions of Godzilla so I just like the thought of the better version of Zilla getting representation in Death Battle in some way. Ironically for two of these kaiju, I actually like the idea of them fighting, that being Toho King Kong and Zilla Jr. Besides being Godzilla vs King Kong, I also like the thought of it because it sort of reverses the East vs West theme of it since King Kong is an American monster, but this version is created by Japan where as (God)Zilla Jr is a Japanese monster, but this version is created by America. Its basically East vs West if they borrowed each other's toys which is also why I like the idea of Takuya Yamashiro (Toei Spider-Man) vs Tommy Oliver. Sadly there are some issues here, one being that Zilla Jr, as his name implies, is the child of the original American Godzilla so its not really the American Godzilla vs Japanese King Kong but American Godzilla's son which kinda breaks the theme. Besides that, I think Zilla Jr is bigger and even if he isn't, he has an entire cartoon series to draw feats from whereas Toho Kong has one movie unless you scale him to the Godzilla he fought and the other Toho Kong that fought Mechanikong so there isn't much to give this version of King Kong. Another King Kong vs Godzilla fight that could work and has its own theme is Zilla Jr vs Kong from Kong: The Animated series. Its again, King Kong vs Godzilla but they both also work closely with humans, both are offspring from the original (God)Zilla and King Kong (this Kong is a clone of it) and funnily enough, Kong: The Animated Series was meant to rival the Godzilla Animated Series so it has the kaiju rivalry and ratings rivalry and both have around 50 episodes so both should have more than enough to go on. The issue here however is I know for a fact that Kong is smaller than Zilla Jr so this could potentially be a stomp even if Kong merges with his brother and gets bigger. I like the idea of these, but I hate the fact that in practice they'd just be an easy stomp since I want an actual fight, even if its more in favor of one, I still want the other to still have a chance.

Awhile back, King Ghidorah was pitted against Deathwing from Warcraft in a Community Death Battle, and judging by how many CDBs are made into fully fledged episodes, as well as how much Chad and other members of the team love Warcraft, that might be the most likely Godzilla matchup to happen next (still hoping for Destoroyah VS Iris).

Coming back to this, Nemesis vs Biollante is a good match up. Both where young girls who where murdered, and would be spliced with kaiju dna who would then go on to transform into their respective kaiju forms.

Personally I think Battra vs Chaos is a bit of a better fight seeing how they're both guardians of something who upon a certain race doing something that offended them, both became highly upset and thus went on a rampage. Both were also then sealed away, effectively put to sleep until something reawoken them, later near or at the end they are also for the most part, pacified.

I think Mechagodzilla 2 (or Super Mechagodzilla for you pedantic Godzilla nerds out there) should fight the Dragonzord, the connections for Kiryu vs Dragonzord are very flimsy in my opinion. Just two giant mechanical dragons that were built to destroy a thing and get stronger when combining with a vehicle. Even then, Kiryu is more of a dinosaur than a dragon and they really stretched to make it thematic. I have a better option for Kiryu that you may have seen a lot of people request, Kiryu vs EVA-01. The connections are two giant mechas that were built using parts of the kaiju they were created to fight, those parts can make them go wild which makes them unpredictable, they both require massive amounts of energy to function which was enough to blackout an entire city and they both have support from other weapons. With Mechagodzilla 2 vs the Dragonzord you have the same connections as Kiryu vs Dragonzord but it is a little more justifiable because they both don't have much to work with. Now I know I am going to disappoint you NBR but I still think Fire Rodan vs Hyper Gyaos is a good matchup. The connections are two giant flying reptiles that shoot lasers from their mouths and are the most advanced forms of their species, they both achieved their strongest forms after they were defeated by the main kaiju of their series and they both lost twice in their timelines. Also when you put them together there isn't much of a height difference.

For Godzilla incarnations my favs are Showa G vs Showa Ultraman Heisie vs Goku Legendary vs Final wars/Heisie Gamera Godzilla in Hell vs Kratos/Maestro Zilla'98 vs Clover'08 Man in the Suit vs Springtrap
