Death Cab for Cutie: Live From Home

I started Live From Home during the pandemic when I wanted nothing more than to play music with my bandmates. As we're now back together, it feels only fitting to have everyone in that little room with me to bring it full circle.
The five of us will be coming to you live this Monday 9/12 at 2pm PT in celebration of 'Asphalt Meadows'. We'll play stripped down versions of new songs as well as some old favorites, chat about the record, and answer your questions before the album is out in full on 9/16.

I remember seeing 405 live acoustic in Rockinghorse Records in Brisbane in maybe 2002. Just Ben and Chris, we took the day off high school to travel an hour on the train to go to it, because we weren't old enough to attend their club show that night. All attendees were sitting cross-legged on the floor I remember.

Grew up with your music. I was singing these lyrics before I knew what they meant, and still find both nostalgia and new meaning every time I listen. I put Plans on repeat when my father was dying.

The Live from Home shows helped me (and many of us) through hard times. They were the highlight of my evenings. I vowed then to catch the next tour (my third) as a way of saying thanks. I'll be in Boston next month, 5 rows from the stage. Thank you for all the ways you give back, both to your fans and the community and its worthy causes.

I was dancing the whole live, this was fucking brilliant. All bangers, all some of my favorite songs, roman candles, title track, 405, your hears is an empty room and I'm still completely speechless by this rendition of Soul Meets Body. The mood and ambiance is so light and refreshing, you guys seems like you're having as much fun playing as I'm having listening to you which is awesome. Thank you so much for being so close to you community and supporting such causes.

I wasn't a fan of Roman Candles because I felt the production was way too loud in the studio recording but hearing it acoustic made me realize it really is a great song, wish they would release an acoustic version for streaming

@digital dirtbag To me, that's the whole point of the song. The massive, distorted sound that comes in as the song progresses is what makes the studio version pop and what made it more memorable than what might otherwise feel as very short interlude filler, though I will say it was an odd choice for a single. You don't have to like it, but you can at least respect the creative decision behind it.
