Mirdproductions I went through the same thing with _this_ song and a few others. ✔ I used to work at Sheetz (cashier) and we were a very busy store so when this song would come on our overhead speakers (satellite), I could hear the tune and hear them singing but couldn't hear the lyrics, & I could never get away from the register, to hear them. I think it took me 2 or 3 months before I managed to clearly hear the 1st line of the chorus. I wrote it down and Googled it as soon as I got home. I had to do the same thing with Keane's "Silenced by the night" and Tegan & Sara's "I'm not your hero", lol.

Lyrics: I want to live where soul meets body And let the sun wrap its arms around me, And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing And feel... feel what it's like to be new. 'Cause in my head There's a Greyhound station Where I send my thoughts To far-off destinations So they may have a chance Of finding a place where they're Far more suited than here. I cannot guess what we'll discover When we turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels, But I know our filthy hands can wash one another's And not one speck will remain. I do believe it's true That there are roads left in both of our shoes, But if the silence takes you Then I hope it takes me too. So brown eyes, I'll hold you near, 'Cause you're the only song I want to hear. A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere. Where soul meets body. Where soul meets body. Where soul meets body. And I do believe it's true That there are roads left in both of our shoes, But if the silence takes you Then I hope it takes me too. So brown eyes, I'll hold you near, 'Cause you're the only song I want to hear. A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere. A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere. A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere. A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere.

I love this song so much. The first 2 verses I relate to with traits of my ADHD ("I send my thoughts to far off destinations") and the hook reminds me of my husband, who understands me so well. "So brown eyes I'll hold you near, cuz you're the only song I want to hear." And the last line is exactly how I feel my husband's presence and love in my life: "a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere." He's everywhere, gently, letting me be me but existing all around and alongside me. It's a beautiful song.

2009, my 8th grade teacher would play Death Cab for Cutie during class along with the Fray. He always raved about them. I always thought they were strange names for bands but my 13 year old brain couldn’t comprehend rock at the time. I was listening to Gucci Mane/rap and Drum & Bass at the time. Everything was hype hype hype when I was younger. Now at 25, I’ve explored many different musical avenues and now just going back in time to hear what the noise was. Turns out some of these melancholic indie songs were relatable and there was much more than just rap. Thanks Mr. Giuliano. Hope you and my 7th grade teacher are still happily married and raising your children well!

I’m no longer a teen, almost in my 45 and just heard this song today while driving and loved it right away. Good thing Shazam helped me save it! Such a gorgeous song, poetic lyrics, simply magic! Marriage struggles are not fun. The lyrics of this song are not only beautiful, but they have healing power. Seriously. When two people are married, have been married before and are at an emotional crossroads, "I do believe it's true that there are roads left in both of our shoes" and "You're the only song I want to hear, a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere" take on a whole new meaning. This might be the most beautiful song I've ever heard.

I want to live where soul meets body And let the sun wrap its arms around me and Bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing And feel Feel what it's like to be new 'Cause in my head there's a Greyhound station Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations So they may have a chance of finding a place where they're Far more suited than here I cannot guess what we'll discover When we turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels But I know our filthy hands can wash one another's And not one speck will remain I do believe it's true That there are roads left in both of our shoes But if the silence takes you Then I hope it takes me too So brown eyes I'll hold you near 'Cause you're the only song I want to hear A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere Where soul meets body Where soul meets body Where soul meets body I do believe it's true That there are roads left in both of our shoes But if the silence takes you Then I hope it takes me too So brown eyes I'll hold you near 'Cause you're the only song I want to hear A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

I think there is nostalgia for this song because it’s from DCFC’s opus. I love their whole catalog, but it’s hard with a band like this because Transatlanticism and Plans were both back to back masterpieces. Hard to top. I think the band knows that too. Latest album is great, but man those two albums were their swan song even though they’re not done as a band yet.

@@adamdutchdurham6771 The crazy thing is that music from the 1990's/2000's is basically to 30 year olds today what classic rock was to 30 year olds in the 90's. Like... I heard the beginning of this song every night when I was a teenager on this radio show called love line. At that time Dr. Drew hosted it and it was like no other radio show I had ever heard. Recently I heard it at work and fell in love with the whole song.

It actually feels better to mean it to no one in particular, just imagining yourself deeply in love for a very brief moment then moving on.

Lmao I'm 16 and I love death cab for cutie/the postal service. I was raised in a hippie family so I got exposed to a lot of really great music at a very young age. Even so I still love my edm and such, and I worship music from video games (Splatoon has some great stuff, with multiple fictional bands and different music genres in the game. From rock to metal, to weird synth noises with lyrics in a non-existent language) But coming back to these songs from my young childhood, before my life changed so fucking much, is really amazing.

This was playing on the radio of a cd store I was in, holding a stack of music. I put some of that back and immediately bought this cd for this song alone. I was not disappointed.

I remember the first time I found this song so many years ago it barely had any views. This track got me through a rough patch in my life. I remember just feeling sad all the time, and listening to this one song could bring me from feeling so down low to way up high. It's good to see that they are being noticed more, and going somewhere.

Trevor Philips dw about any shit other people are saying, it's good that you have that respect for the song, and the ability to bring up topics other people are afraid to talk about. If this song helped you- Good for you!
