I love this song so much. The first 2 verses I relate to with traits of my ADHD ("I send my thoughts to far off destinations") and the hook reminds me of my husband, who understands me so well. "So brown eyes I'll hold you near, cuz you're the only song I want to hear." And the last line is exactly how I feel my husband's presence and love in my life: "a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere." He's everywhere, gently, letting me be me but existing all around and alongside me. It's a beautiful song.

I bought this CD in September of 2005 just before I took a Greyhound bus to move to Florida, and the first time I heard it, I was on the bus in Tennessee staring out the window at the mountains. It was pretty fucking magical.

2009, my 8th grade teacher would play Death Cab for Cutie during class along with the Fray. He always raved about them. I always thought they were strange names for bands but my 13 year old brain couldn’t comprehend rock at the time. I was listening to Gucci Mane/rap and Drum & Bass at the time. Everything was hype hype hype when I was younger. Now at 25, I’ve explored many different musical avenues and now just going back in time to hear what the noise was. Turns out some of these melancholic indie songs were relatable and there was much more than just rap. Thanks Mr. Giuliano.
