I've got to say, this Series has taken some of the boldest steps in a long time. Whether this has improved it or not is honestly up to the individual, but to me it has breathed a lot of new life into the show's dynamic and has knocked me well out of my tired old comfort zone. I love it.

Good series but I missed the Doctor Who-feeling I've always had with every episode. Love Peter as the Doctor but more episodes like the finale please. Has anyone else noticed that this was the second time the Cybermen have been defeated through the power of love? I know they're an overpowered uber-bad, so will always have a lame achilles heel, but I'd rather have them allergic to gold than allergic (or even susceptible) to love. The tragedy, the horror and most of what made them interesting is that they can turn everyone you love against you. Your own mother would shoot you dead without a second thought after being converted into a Cyberman, which is what terrified children so much in the old days. As much as I like New Who (Eccleston is my Doctor), it has thoroughly neutered the Cybermen. Not only have they become mere foot soldiers for whatever big bad Moffat has dug out of classic Who, they've been given a weakness that completely goes against what made them scary to begin with.

The ending was so brilliantly done, made me cry like a baby. Now hoping that Doctor makes a wish to bring back clara or something. Or at least they should know the truth about each other! Steven Moffat is right about Michelle Gomez she plays the part perfectly, too well. I knew she was The Master from her first appearance simply because of how she acted, it REEKED of Master. Its the first time I think an actress played a role TOO well. I wasn't surprised by the reveal at all. Her being The Rani, now that would have been something.

Michelle is frickin amazing and hilarious. I'm so glad she and Peter were the Master and Doctor at the same time. They are the only two on par with Pertwee and Delgado. (No shade to the other actors their dynamic just wasn't always quite as deep as it was with Pertwee and Delgado till Missy and 12 came along)

I think the entire idea of The Doctor vs. The Master is about the same concept as Sherlock vs. Moriarty in Sherlock, in the sense of, Moriarty needing to find Sherlock because he's the only one as clever as him. It's almost the same as The Master needing to find The Doctor because they are the only ones clever enough to understand. It's really interesting to think about.

All I thought when Missy said she placed Clara there, all I could think was... MISSY SHIPS WHOUFFLE.

Capaldi is having so much fun as The Doctor. So happy for him since he is such a huge fan. It must be so amazing and he is doing such a good job even if a few episodes this season were off.

I feel more sad than anything about the ending that was a great finale but it was heart breaking, I am deeply saddened by osgood moffat strikes again, I am also sad they killed missy but I have a feeling that is not enough to kill her and the gun who shot her should not have vaporized her, (if I recall cybermen tech correctly) so I hope missy survived and will back to cause hell cause she was terrifying and I am dying to know what became of galifrey and only The Mistress knows

This episode was BRILIANT and FANTASTIC! I still don't really know what to say!

In spite of its flaws, I loved this finale and found it to be a satisfying conclusion for Series 8.

It's a thing with really good actors; They can actually make themselves look different without actually looking different. Remember how Rory was practically shorter than Arthur Darvill?

If/when Missy comes back all I want her to say is "Oh my dear Doctor, you have been naive.".

The Osgood in Series 9 was human since if the human died, the Zygon would lose it's shape and revert back to it natural look. This, however, didn't happen. A human is required to stay alive for the Zygon to keep it's shape and look. Why didn't the Doctor know this? Or didn't he care? WHO KNOWS!!!

Gonna spend the next 6 weeks hoping for Santa to bring back Danny and reunite the doctor with Clara

Missy teleported so she should be coming back. You can tell because from the 2 times she teleported in the episode she kinda evaporates in blue pixles like what happened during that scene, also when a cyberman shoots at someone they do not die like that (turning to dust). so she must of teleported away. Also Missy has a TARDIS so.... anything could happen

A great episode to finish off a turbulent series 8. It was up and down but thankfully it was held together at the end. All the characters were great, particularly Missy. I initially thought it was a terrible idea but the way Michelle portrayed the Master/Mistress is just so infectious and fun. The maniac within the character is frightening and weirdly seductive. I also like how Clara's attitude has changed in a way where she seems more protective (of her unborn child perhaps?) and somewhat stubborn/dark/evil as a result. And the Doctor, for once, not being the one that saves the day and is instead left helpless to pick up the pieces. And that sad ending was brilliant - from lying to hide each other's respective emotional turmoil, to the idea of a hug hiding the true emotion of one's face. I'm interested in how the Christmas special picks up from this heartbreaking finale. Bring it on!

Missy will be back. That was no death, she clearly teleported. And maybe the Doctor was given the right co-ordinates for Gallifrey, but not the right time.

Here's something I just noticed. Chris Addison who played Seb also played Olliver Reeder in The Thick Of It (he also played Toby Wright in In The Loop, a film set in the The Thick Of It world) and for those that don't know, Peter Capaldi played Malolm Tucker in The Thick Of It (and In The Loop). Pruddy cool,huh?

I didn't get that ending! Was Gallifrey actually destroyed?! How can you not bring Danny Pink or Osgood back to life?!

The best doctor of all I would say that David Tennant was the wittyest time Lord and eccentric, as he portrayed in the doctor who series. Roger Delgado with the right menacing features for the master. Most ferocious features . I've watched the first episodes of the doctor who,and followed it up to date

Some people are just never happy no matter what, I've loved this series every second. i still think people don't like Stevens writing because they see what hes done with Sherlock and expect that for doctor who but that can't happen because then it would be Sherlock with an alien and taking away from the heritage of the show.

So, does this mean that Mary Poppins was really the Master aka Missy?

I for one am convinced that The Master has purported somewhere before The Brigadier or The Doctor took their shot. Sure it looked like she was pulverized, but honestly, The Master seems to have always had that sort of end before being brought back again. Think back to Series 3 where he chose not to regenerate and died, but was brought back through a spell in The End of Time only to practically walk to his death through the portal with the President still wearing the Resurrection Gauntlet (which is a deadly weapon btw). Who's to say that after his return as Missy we wouldn't see her more times? Besides there's a whole lot we still didn't get to see... Let's all chill out and wait for the Chrismas episode and hope for a pleasant holiday surprise.

Only ever heard of/watched the late Roger Delgado as The Master, heard of/Seen Peter here for the first time, the female Master was to me - Mary Poppins.

This episode leaves me feeling like it needed more, it was heading somewhere but it failed to reach its destination some how. Any one else feel the same?

I can sum up what Moffat has done to Dr who with these words: INCONSISTENT, CONTRIVED, CONVOLUTED, PRETENTIOUS, OVERLY COMPLEX, OVERLY DRAMATIC, OVERLY POETIC, OVERLY ARTSY! filled with convenient writing and really quick fixes to solve situations (remember, most of those words only really goes for the Steven Moffat era) I remember when Dr who was just about fun and dangerous adventures in time and space, but not any more it seems. I probably won't respond to any replies to this comment because I'm tired and I'm going to bed, GOODNIGHT EVERYONE!

Best characterization of the Master/Mistress yet.

...in the end, all my worries were for naught. She was SO the master in the finale. The parallelism, the style, it was all there. This incarnation's defining factor seems to be an extra serving of troll.  Started out funny when she pretended to be a gynoid, became significantly less funny when she killed Osgood and gave the Doctor fake coordinates. ...and the role reversal game/motif continues; Last time, the Doctor got to be the one who kept Clara grounded after trauma; This time, she's doing his job in a way that I think hasn't been seen before with a companion: Calling him out not on being too harsh, but too soft. "You can't let this monster live", and indeed, we all know she would have used the fake coordinates thing to subdue the Doctor and escape. This being the Master, she probaby escaped *anyway*, but still... and the Brigadier got to kill her!

So how did Clara meet Orson Pink if Danny died?

So how did the BBC stop the fans around from hearing Missy say she was the master? That would have ruined everything.

Not going to lie, I groaned at the part when they start talking about love saving the day because it sounded very Dumbledore-talking-to-Harry-esque, but other than that it was fantastic. The only thing that really concerned me was whether this was it for Missy, because I really want to see Michelle Gomez's Master back the next time there's a Master story.

I am a big fan of Doctor who and my favourite monsters are the Daleks and the Cybermen but my all most favourite of Doctor Who is when he meets his other selves maybe you could do it again one last time when doctors 1 to 12 meet each other again when they find Gallifrey and Take on the Daleks and Cybermen
