Honestly? I very much prefer this to mothership, I don't know maybe it's the more granular rules or even the fact that it's a single book but I have already played a couple of game that spaced (pun intended) from alien style horror to Firefly like antics and it worked flawlessly.

Probably too late to be useful, but the general consensus is VG is Mörk Borg in space, while DiS is more of its own thing (even though there is some inspiration there)
