I had a client that was slowly dying from muscular dystrophy. It was more aggressive than most. His dad told me he was afraid of dying in his sleep so he was scared to go to bed. One night as I was putting him to bed and he told me his fear and only one thing came to mind. Butterflies. I told him that how I see death is that our body is like a Caterpillar. Like how caterpillars grow slowly, make a cocoon as the last part of their former lives and then emerge as something greater. In the end he would be free from everything that holds him back and be able to go forward into anything he wants... That was apparently the first night in years that he slept peacefully. His younger brother had the same issue because he had the same diagnosis and he just grew up watching his brother either away and he knew he was next. The younger brother listened to what I told the older brother and the days after he seemed happier. I know they are both probably dead now but I am happy for the time I had with them and I hope they both went peacefully. I think about the time I got with them and I miss them both along with their family. I am hoping that when my son experiences a death in the family that the same talk will help him through it...

My first experience of death, I already knew what death meant from personal experiences. Life taught me, not any one else.

I just watched this episode last night. Got me thinking, how parents explain death to kids. But all in all, it was pretty sad

Coulda just said “yo uncle dead as hell that means he ceases to exist”

So apparently, they aren’t making any more of this show which sucks because there is still so many story lines to explore like the downfall of the light or a Superman and supergirl story line sense she was just revealed to be on Apokalips or Brion getting let loose from the mind control or maybe the eventual downsides of Nabu’s helmet of fate getting passed around or even on that note, the story of Zatanna and Zatara bonding after spending actual time together for the first time in 10 years. So many story lines that won’t be explored because there is no more Young Justice.

What the kid was told here is the truth and I've said a variation to my little cousin when my grandfather died, this seriously brings back all sorts of memories for me all sorts of feelings but the one thing is that my family could not tell them they made me be the bad one I'm always made out to be the bad one but I rather be said evil that way they know that I was there, even if it's just for being truthful and also doing what was needed

If young justice had a 5th season they'd bring Wally back and say something like the speed force happened

My grand father was german in a school for problematic child He was 16 and the SS came to his school and just took the 2 older classes gived them a uniform and rifle His one of the only survivor 5 survivor for 70 kids

I didn't teach my little brother what death is, but when was four, I got to tell him what death is because my fish died after having him for two years. We don't have personal loss yet so that saved me a lot of tears to avoid talking such a heavy topic.

Misses the most important part of telling a child about death, they realize they and everyone die eventually. Man that day sucked i remember it so vividly. Of course johnny kent only has to worry about kryptonite (and in some iterations not even that)
