These kids are traumatised, they lost their mom who was murdered and they only have their dad left but he might go to jail. They might lose both their parents literally and figuratively, that has to be terrifying so I'm not surprised that they're holding on to him, it makes sense from their perspective.

When their mother disappeared it was during the 2020 pandemic and I think both of them were on a church bus in another state even though everyone was on lockdown. That to me is strange. Because they couldn't get ahold of their mom for mother's day, Barry supposedly had the neighbor go check the house.

The DA who prosecuted Barry was advised by the CBI and FBI not to proceed yet due to lack of evidence. The DA was elected to the DA position even though her own sister went on social media and said her whole campaign was a lie. She also had complaints against her law license but she was elected anyway. This thing has been a cluster failure from the beginning. The house where Suzanne disappeared from is in a low population county. The sheriff's department didn't have much experience with this type of case. It also went nowhere for a long time until her brother in Indiana went on social media and got thousands of people to go to Colorado to search for her body. That attention got more attention from the FBI and CBI. Sometimes family and friends are the only reason these cases go anywhere at all.

Exactly! As a psychologist who had a private practice in Indiana (where these daughters were raised) I can testify to what long-term brainwashing does to one's ability to perceive reality. Women in that part of the country are taught to believe they are responsible for anything their husband does sexually. I've worked with women who thought they were responsible for their husband's homosexuality and even the sexual abuse of their children. Before I moved to Colorado I had an Indiana female friend tell me - "Any woman who can't control her husband through sex just doesn't know what she is doing." I wasn't raised by a woman who used feminine wiles to control her husband. So I never fit in in that part of the world. As a psychologist, I can also understand the denial that could lead a child to believe that their father is their protector and savior in spite of evidence to the contrary. As a psychologist, I developed a scheme that helped numerous women escape abusive partnerships. The fact is, women in these relationships are more likely to die while attempting to leave. Most seek help from some male friend or relative and often develop romantic relationships they believe will help them leave. Too often that backfires and is seen as the reason for jilted husband's rage. The idea that a man's Home is his Castle is still prevalent in that part of the country. However, they are ready to jump on the idea that a woman can also be charged with abuse. So she'd better not scratch while she's on her way down to the floor after being hit! This happened to a client of mine and she was charged with spouse abuse! As an outsider I could see the the irrationality. But if you're raised in that environment, it's really hard to believe it's not the only way. I recommend that people who don't understand this phenomena watch podcasts on KZfaq by Dr. Ramani. I wish this resource was around when I was a private practice psychologist. It's really helped me understand this phenomenon that is sweeping our country. I pray for all victims of abuse. May you find peace and your abusers have bad memories. 🙏@@btrueeth

I think they are potentially in a very dangerous situation and I hope someone is keeping an eye on them if this heats up against him. Please read my other comments in this thread. I followed this case from the beginning and it has been a cluster failure from the start. I think both of the daughters were on a church bus in another state on a retreat during the pandemic when everyone was on lockdown. That is strange to me. The daughters couldn't get ahold of their mother to wish her happy mother's day so they told their dad they were worried. The following is an excerpt from page 119 of the AFFIDAVIT FOR ARREST WARRANT dated May 4, 2021. SA Grusing asked Barry if he shot the tranquilizer gun on Saturday, May 9th and he said, “Absolutely not.” Barry was told no tranquilizer, like BAM, was recovered at the house. He said he used BAM Telazol and Xylazine as tranquilizers. When Barry was asked if he disposed of those, he stated, “I don’t recall.” Barry was asked what he used to reverse the tranquilizer effect and he said, “Tolazine.” Barry said he brought the chemicals, which he knew to be controlled substances, from Indiana and kept them on his workbench. Barry said he kept the chemicals in vials and injected the chemicals into darts, not using a licensed vet for the process. When asked if he was able to do that all himself, he said, “Yeah, absolutely.” Barry was asked the last time he used those chemicals and he said around the end of April 2020. SA Grusing asked if those chemicals could have been part of the workbench he cleaned off before he went to Broomfield and he said, “Could’ve been.”

All these comments about the girls, I want to explain why they might be standing by him. There was a guy I knew growing up and his mother went missing and it was clear to everyone his dad did it but police didn’t have enough evidence. I asked him why he still sometimes talks to his dad. He said although he thinks he might have done it, he doesn’t know for sure. I think mentally he can’t handle losing both. He already lost his mom and police couldn’t put his dad away anyways. So what choice did he have? He couldn’t put his dad in jail himself. He already lost his mom and didn’t want to HAVE to lose his dad too. He was willing to live in the grey. He said when they charge him it’s different. It’s definite. It’s final. Until then, he already lost his mom…. Didn’t want to lose the idea of his dad (who he thought his dad was, not who he is in actuality) and he continues to wrestle with that to this day.

I don't know if he did it but I feel that even if he did, his daughters will stand by him because they blame her affair for what happened.
