Death brought in some great riffs and thought - provoking messages.

Just like Mustaine, Chuck picked amazing players. From Human on is really great. I love the old Death albums but Human for me is when Death really found their sound.

I can agree, but I still prefer Leprosy and Gore. Those two albums are 80s enough for me

I love Death was aware of them in 90s but didn't really hear how great until I was older. His vocals aren't as harsh as other Death metal but also the playing is so freaking good. My favorite Death metal band of all time I do like all the albums. Great video!

Just from this retrosepctive alone, I'm defintiely going to check these guys out. I've never listened to these guys before but just from the clips alone with how they sound, I think I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of this band ngl. 🤘🏻 Also, great video btw! Can't wait to see more of these retrosepctives and learn more about the other bands you have in mind. 🔥🖤

Exploring Death's discography has been a blast. The Philosopher is probably my favorite Death song. I had a few "Aha!" moments that were pretty fun. The album Leprosy seemed to influence melodeath and/or melodic metalcore that would come later, and Scream Bloody Gore seems to have popularized gorey shock lyrics in death metal.

As to the Kiss thing, I'm not really a fan either but God of thunder is one of the few kiss songs I like and Death killed that cover. The opening guitar riff sounds so good. PS: F yeah, Crystal mountain. One of my favorite songs to play on guitar

Love the more metal focused direction this channel is heading. At 2:15 you mention that death and possesed are the bands that are cited as inventors of death metal. You are forgetting about necrophagia, the band who released their season of the dead debut album 3 months before scream bloody gore. I believe necrophagia deserves more respect towards shaping the more nasty gorey side of death metal. Fun fact: Phil Anselmo played the guitars in necrophagia when they were reformed in the late 90s with only the original singer remaining (Frank Pucci, killjoy, who passed away in 2018)

Death has easily been my favorite band for years. Great video. Is the 8-bit outro Heartwork?

Fantastic video. I've been a huge fan of this band since high school. I even learned how to play the intro to Evil Dead on the trombone. Nice to see other people who love this band as much as I do. Also unrelated but those 8bit covers of Cannibal Corpse in the background are amazing.

Fun fact, some songs on Death's TSOP is not even written for Death. Moment of Clarity, Bite The Pain, Voice Of The Soul, Story To Tell, and I forgot the other one but those were originally Control Denied songs and on their Deluxe Reissue they have Story To Tell and A Moment Of Clarity 1996 demos with clean vocals over them so if you wanna see how it sounded for CD, then check those out. And yeah they never put out a bad album or song I can listen to their whole discography and not skip a song.

Death is really the best metal band of all time.. If you give any single one of this man Chuck’s songs to someone, they will find something that blows their mind, Voice of the Soul and Without Judgement are by far my favorites. Thank you for this! If you enjoy Death I can’t say you’ll find much like it but I’d say Carcass and Napalm Death are definitely worth your while!

Great video! I just wanted to point out your comment on the change between symbolic and individual thought patterns where you said that symbolic was more heavy on the time signature and tempo changes and I you also were insistent on calling ITP prog metal. I can see where you're coming from but ITP is definitely the album where death went the most experimental with time signatures and tempos and also in terms of technicality and therefore I would call the album a technical death metal piece rather than progressive. The whole point of symbolic was to dial this back and introduce more simple riffs and solos and take on a more melodic approach while sticking to straightforward time signatures unlike the 13/8 in trapped in a corner for instance. I'm just nitpicking tho, great video!

My favourite album by death album would be spiritual healing
@aboutthemetal8783 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say they were the no 1 best death metal band , definitley one of the most musically technical death metal bands yes , but there was to many line up changes and that didn't help them ,but chuck did cancel tours over stupid stuff , I was in Holland expecting to see them and when we got to the gig is when we found out there would be no gig , My favourite death metal band is deicide , I wish massacre had stayed together and done more albums , from beyond is one of the best death metal albums of all time .

ngl, I still do not get the love people have for Death. I have tried and tried and tied for years and have just never found them interesting and I listen to a lot of death metal. Also, Spiritual Healing has some of the most angsty "I just discovered the world is bigger than me" lyrics I have ever read. Some are pretty good and others are borderline cringe, it is a weird mixed bag lyrically.

Fuck yeah love death one of the few death metal bands I like along with possessed morbid angel entombed early dismember bolt thrower demilich carnage other than that I really dislike death metal well I dislike the bands that came after cannibal corpse got popular in 1994 after that every new band just started copying their sound and to this day their are nothing but cannibal corpse clones

I'm more of a Leprosy, Rick Rozz, Massacre fan. Chuck was a genius, but the geeky, technical, melodic cheese Death is not for me.

My favorite band will always be slipknot, been listening to them since I was 12 I'm 33 now, but recently started listening to slayer and instantly became of fan, then I started listening to cannibal corpse, and we'll just say cannibal corpse lead me to Death and again I instantly became a fan, all this in the recent months so I'm listening to their music alot and holy fuck I can't believe I've been missing out on this the whole time 🤯🤯🤯 definitely worth listening to!! ⸸𖤐
