Death is not always negative, an unwanted situation could also be nearing it's end with death card, but it'll keep popping up in love readings when I'm asking about old love interests, the ones who had long walked out of my life, it really refers to attached with people or situations or things of the past in many occasions. Fool + Death : short lived encounter or conversation, things over before they could even begin

Thank you very much Kate! I think what we see on the right of the card are the stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance), and I associate it with the Fool, the Strength, the Hierophant, the Moon, and the Sun that we can ”glimpse” in the card.

This card is so important to me that i have a tattoo of it on my leg. I think you did a great job with your deep dive on it. For me it is all about a relationship that ended and the pain I had to feel and not numb with distractions to become a better version of myself and move on. I loved your discussion on the void because that was where I was at when I decided that this card was meaningful enough to get a tattoo of it on my leg to remind me that nothing is permanent and that I needed to start to live again in order to transform. A lot of hard work was done.

You really did a stellar job explaining this card. You asked, since we collectively seem to be in a liminal space, what can help us through it? My answer would be trust. Trust that this is part of the process of ascension, trust in the Universe and trust in the divine plan - all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well. ETA: Being older than you, I've been to plenty of open casket funerals. All of the makeup, nice clothes, etc. cannot make that body look "alive". Once the soul has left the body, it is a shell, and imho, not a very attractive one.

i can proudly say death is my favourite card because i am a scorpio sun moon rising, i love the meanings it carries and the way it connects the hanged man to the temperance. i see it as The Hanged Man sacrifices himself in that tree, then he dies and then he comes back to life in The Temperance card

Your Death card video was indeed deep. You touched on all the significant aspects of death. Three items that I resonated with are impermanence, non-attachment and the void. I try my best to be non-attached and live in the moment. Not having a vision of the future is something that has been on my mind. Change is constant and cant't be stopped. Very helpful insights. Thank you. It's amazing the overlap of Western esoteric or Hermetic philosophy w Taoism and Buddhism regarding non attachment. The death card is a reminder to get on w life and live it; not carelessly but w wisdom. In a reading, maybe it means change without certainty about what comes next and the seeker should proceed carefully with gratitude. It can also mean unconditional acceptance of the inevitable as the child is displaying. I think it was Seneca that said "everything in your past belongs to death." Learn from the past but you can't live there.

In Season 2 of “Dollface”, there’s a scene where one of the ladies, who’s in a slump, gets a tarot reading, hoping to get a positive outcome, and gets-surprise, surprise-Death, The Devil, and a card called The Nightmare. My fiance transitioned to the other side a year and ahalf ago and I found him unconcious whenI came from a double shift job 7:20am found him on the floor face down. I am still in the state of shock and have not healed I dont feel like I will ever be honestly. Thank you. This was a wonderful explanation of the Death card. I think of the Death Card as the end of a cycle in the ebb and flow of our lives. I've experienced many cycles and the "void" or murky time between death and a new beginning allows me to reflect on what I have learned from the different cycles in my life. It also allows me to think of what I don't want to continue or bring with me in the new beginning and how I can raise my vibration to a higher level.

Well put! I love the concept of the card as a reminder to embrace impermanence as well, I think you explained that well. The last year has been a process of releasing attachments to certain outcomes, embracing the beauty in change, and letting myself mourn both the seasons that have ended and the doors closed or futures that die when I make decisions to release what is no longer serving me. The Death card came up often and helped in that I do tend to place a bit more significance in the Major Arcana aspect of the Death. Major Arcana are often indicators of major plot points when I read for myself or others. Death's appearance to me usually signifies that kind of change that's more than just switching detergents. The change that has a bit more permeance than that.

Thank you for noting that the messy part is essential to the Death process! (And I would note: how ever many times I go through it, I'm never -- I'm never really ready, I haven't like nailed the process, it's always new and difficult.) I wanted to add about the white rose, which you mentioned at the beginning: Some believe that in alchemy, the red rose is for the masculine principle (active, external, solar, spirit) and the white rose represents the feminine principle (receptive, internal, lunar, soul). There are ideas of purity and peace associated with it; in the 1940s there was even an anti-Nazi group in Germany called the White Rose. I find that because of the medieval imagery in the Smith-Rider-Waite type Tarot traditions, the English feel of it, the white rose evokes the War of the Roses, and therefore the House of York. So it can be fun to follow that train of thought with the Death card, read some Shakespeare or Wikipedia, dig into those stories on an archetypal level. Also, Death on this card illustration is *literally* "under the rose," sub rosa, because of that flag you pointed out! So in the occult sense, the artists are pointing out the secret, occult, sub-rosa quality of a symbolic, esoteric, ritual "death" moment. OK I'm going on too long... thank you for your cool video.

Hi this is my first time seeing this video. I decided to watch the deep meaning behind the death card cause a psychic once told me that the card appointed to my birthday (January 13) is the death card..I didn't startle cause I can feel the energy of the card just by looking at it and it resonates! I'm not a scorpio but My life had always been transformative in every aspect more of a "tower moment". Every sudden change had something to do with my life path that aligns me to my true purpose and this is why its so interesting.

There are only select cases where I've read the death card literally. Like when someone asked me to see if their unknown biological father was alive. I got king of cups and death. So I felt obligated to interpret that literally, because the question was a yes or no question. Turned out to be right. Sadly

Because clients will freak out with the appearance of The Death card and I then need to spend so much time explaining why it doesn't mean 'real' death of the body, I just remove this card from my deck when I read for others. Some may criticize this but I have had no negative issues with doing so. It's just my thing and my choice.

Thanks Kate…sooo enlightening 🙏🏻✨…after a number of major life changes I went into the void ‘slushy’ time….what I’ve realised…and what you have helped me clarify…is that there is no pre-set finish time for void slush time. 👍 It can go on for quite a long while…and I don’t have to feel guilty or like a loser for not jumping straight back on the horse of life! Obviously I get support and help at times…but I now relax and allow the process of repatterning the future butterfly to take shape without me forcing it. It’s ok if it’s 2 or 3 or 4 years…I feel it’s taking shape and am practicing for butterfly time with no self recrimination…thanks (gawd….that was a ramble 😁🌻) The Death card is so joyfully profound! ✨

I see that so many people try to escape Death Card meaning. They try to say "oh it's not that bad, it's about new beginnings" etc. Maybe it's our modern world pretending death doesn't exist and eternal youth is achievable? Death card means...death. It can come in different shapes and situations but ultimately something will stop existing and it will be very painful.

A couple of weeks ago I had a bad fight with my drummer of 12 years. I did a spread to see how things would play out, and the outcome was "Death". It wasn't the only challenging card either. Five of Wands for spiritual influences, The Tower for spiritual advice, the 3 of Swords for subconscious thoughts, and the 7 of Wands for conscious thoughts. Yikes! The only saving grace was the position of practical advice: The 3 of Cups. "Focus on the friendship". I was still half-convinced he was going to quit, but I chose to take the rest of the cards as a potential warning, and focused on that 3 of Cups. We were walking on eggshells a bit at rehearsal Wednesday, but I think it went well overall. Anyhow, it's almost like focusing on that 3 of Cups allowed me to transform the Death card into its happier meaning: putting this behind us. Reinforcing that interpretation is the fact that my daily pull for the day was the Ace of Cups.

So im no guru but, as we all have some wisdom to teach - whatever the world throws at us as far as being scared of "the future", which according to them does not even exist - please don't buy what they are clearly selling - selling hard! "During these uncertain times..(basically just listen to us and dont question, we have certainty for sale)" Hah! Since when has there EVER been certainty in this 3D reality we're experiencing? Never! Possibility and surprise, danger, or beauty, or complexity, lie around every corner! That pretty much defines life. Thankfully Tarot & other traditions of our human birthright exist to help guide us. But we have to go into every moment with some form of acceptance, curiosity, confidence in ourselves, CARE and even courage., To do otherwise - what most people are still doing bcuz of the last 2 yrs- is willful subversion and slavery of the mind and the body, AND the soul. U pretty much said that, but im just reiterating- things may seem more uncertain right now, but the masters of men are working overtime to keep the masses thinking that way. we have to make use of this transitional time. The more we let them imply that "they" hold the keys to safety, "certainty" and reality of our lives, the further we get from living as free human and spiritual sovereign beings. Right?
