This is Part 2 of my 2021 visit to the Death Valley. On this video I describe my visit to the Race Track. I found snow on the road leading to the Race Track which made for a beautiful scenery on this ride. What a privilege! I also went to Ballarat.
I'm also documenting a total failure of the 790R shock, which lost all fluid on my ride back from Ballarat.
The video ends with my trip back from the Death Valley. If you watched Part 1 of this video, you know I encountered snow on the way down to California. The same happened on my way back, although I picked a different route. I hope you enjoy this video.

Those washboard roads out to the Racetrack are notorious for smoking shocks. Good on KTM for fixing it though.

Yes, it's a hard on the bikes road, and one can't go slow on that stuff. LOL. I was really glad KTM fixed it.

thank you for the video. It was very informative. i hope the road closures open soon as the park was hit hard with flood damage.

Thank you for your comment. I'm going to skip Death Valley this year. But yes, I'm sure some of the favorite roads may be different this year after all that rain. I'm thinking Lippincott pass. Hoping for the best!

Your videos cover a few areas I’d like to explore more through. Can you share gpx tracks? I’m heading down from Oregon in a few weeks Thanks Peter

I did not record the tracks. But I will be very glad to let you know what roads I took to go to these places. The Racetrack is very easy, these roads are major roads and are on all DV maps. Leaving Stovepipe Wells, on HWY 190 travel toward Scotty Castle Rd (also called the North Road). From there continue North and make a left on the Ubehebe Crater Rd. Once you get to the Ubehebe Crater, as you circle around the crater to get to the parking lot, you will see on the right, the gravel road that is called the Racetrack Rd (it has signs). That road will take you all the way to the Teakettle Junction. You can't miss it. :-) The Teakettle Junction will point to Race track, 6 miles form there, or Hunter Mountain. Please let me know what other places you would like to visit, they should be on all maps. To go to Ballarat, take HWY 190 toward the other direction, the way to go to Panamint Springs, but much before then you make a left on the Emigrant Rd. From there I show on my videos the names of all the roads and the actual intersections. You can't miss it. And these are all great roads with great views. The most difficult tracks are on the Chloride Hills, which I show in the 2022 ride. Because there are many variations on the theme, it's a labyrinth. We always get lost but we always find our way out. LOL. So, let me know places you would like to visit and I will be very glad to give you directions. I've done Mengel pass to the south, to Eureka Dunes to the north. I've done Steele pass and Warm Springs. Titus Canyon, Echo Canyon, Lipincott Road. You can't go wrong in the Death Valley. Hope you have a group or a buddy to go with you. I don't recommend doing anything alone over there.

Thanks for your reply. Yup there are three off us on KTM 350’s for most of the trip. I’ll do some solo easy stuff on my DR650 as well. Peter Corvallis

@@uphill29er Perfect. Just one more thought. Road conditions change form year to year and this last winter has been brutal. So who knows what roads will be open and at what condition. On the other hand, that's a great opportunity for great video and photo.
