So, in conclusion: The first song is an impossible version of a remix of a song called "U. N. Owen was Her?" and the second song is "Death Waltz," a song that was made as a joke and wasn't meant to be played. Since both songs are *impossible* to play, a mixup happened to where someone from Japan (or Korea) thought the impossible "U. N. Owen was Her?" remix was INSTEAD the impossible "Death Waltz" and that same person uploaded "U. N. Owen was Her?" To KZfaq under the false name of Death Waltz and the rest is history. Why does this songs name have to be so fucking complicated jfc

Epic Maniac “U.N Owen was her?” isn’t impossible to play on one piano just extremely difficult to play and read the sheet music so very possible like some of the world’s hardest music pieces ever written for instruments it’s still playable just difficult

To clarify, UN Owen Was Her wasn't impossible. This is cause it wasn't a music piece in the first place. People just needed to know how to cover the song themselves as long as it sounded right. Second, it wasn't the same person from Japan that uploaded the video under Death Waltz name. Marasy8's video was appropriately named as "UN Owen Was Her", the problem was a guy who uploaded a nightcore remix on synthesia that's named "Death Waltz" which was a cover name for the remix. People just stupidly assume it's John Stump's. Partially it's the synthesia's uploader's fault for not clarifying it was just a cover title, the other is the mass general audience assuming things without thinking about it first. It was made worse when someone uploaded marasy8's video of him playing UN Owen Was her and changed it to Death Waltz I know this history 'cause I was a former Touhou fan, and this has been a thing for over a decade, and it annoys me to no end.

Well no, fishes having seizures wasnt added until Stumps 4th piece, it was intended for use in death waltz but the released penguins kept eating the seizing fish so one had to be cut and as such the fish were droped

John Stump DID right a song as a joke that was meant to be impossible to play and was known as the Death Waltz, but somewhere along the line a significantly more entertaining remix of a remix of a song from a video game that is equally if not vastly more impossible to play became attributed to him instead of the actual piece? No he actually did write this, I personally own the original sheet music he wrote, as he was my uncle. He wrote it because he knows the notes musical notes so well and can hear the music without even hearing it and has never even heard the song to this day, since he died before these videos ever surfaced

Death Waltz by John Stump is a joke sheet not meant to be played. Not because it is impossible (certainly not), but because it is silly. Most of the sheet does not even make sense, like what are you supposed to do with the bicycle? And actually using living animals is where I think most people would stop thinking of trying to perform it...

Nobody knowing the backstory of the music 'death waltz'? Okay, here it goes.... An American pianist had so many dept that forced him almost to death. And one day, a real threat message arrived to him. Later, he met his friend and told him to figure the truth, not telling why he was saying such a thing(but the friend knew that he had too many depts.)in the message, there were the time and place he'll be threatened to be dead, so he quickly made this music which has 66/66 beats(devil's number, showing how desperate he was), a glasses shaped and knife shape placed notes(how the guy looks and what the guy will use to threat him), and finally, the time, 1:21, and HELP ME written surrounded by black notes.

Here's how do differentiate them. U.N. Owen Was Her sounds much less like noise for the sake of noise and much more like fully orchestrated song. Death Waltz only sounds like a song towards the end and that's it.
