I would like to use it right now. I should have shared my husbands hospice drugs with him. Then we could have had a 2 for one. All I am doing now is sleeping, paying just regular house bills, because fortunately we have no debt. Our kids don’t talk to me and neither does anyone else for that matter. And they call this life ??

I completely agree. When our pets are beyond saving and we see them struggle and lay around in terrible pain, our vets are quick to relieve them from the misery. Humans are made to suffer in horrific ways until they die as though it were some badge of honor. It seems so backwards. Where is the compassion for humans???

At one time I was against this but as time has passed I have changed my mind. Who am I to deny someone anyone their right to die with dignity! It's a personal choice between that person, their family and *God* . I have asked myself if I was terminal and towards the end that I was going to be in the most horrific pain would I want to be drugged up and hooked up on life support unable to live my life because others decided that my life was their right to prolong? My answer was *#No* . I hope that one day that choice becomes the right to every human being. May Brittany Rest In Peace. God Bless her and her family.

How do you "know" that you are? Calvinists, Baptists, Catholics, all have different definitions. Then again, how do you know that the devil is not tricking you? So no one knows but God if there is a God which you probably need to prove first. And prove the Bible is true, which is a whole other matter. So you are very far from knowing if there is a God, if the Bible is true, let alone who is saved and who isn't. If you believe in a God, why not just leave it up to him or her?@@kathleenmorris9309

Truly this dignity in dying IS a topic that should be explored & made available to all. When terminal illness forbids any kind of 'quality of life' without curing or having to rely upon machines to even breathe... Wasting away...Then consideration should be given to the sound mind of an individual who wishes to have a Kavorkian assist. The man was demonized for giving people a dignified release of 'life' (an individual's choice to NOT depend on machines, drugs to 'exist' & pass away 'naturally')

Even as a conservative voter, I would support this. Then again, JMO, but I've never been one to believe that even suicide was a selfish thing. Who are we, who is anyone to say when the level of suffering is NOT enough suffering for someone else? Those are the selfish ones. Humanely euthanized shouldn't just be for pets.
@lilifreechannel414

I absolutely support this, for anyone truly suffering, regardless of the source. If life is unbearable, they should have the right to choose this path, to avoid a prolongation of suffering and to avoid sinister forms of suicide which happens at alarming rates. There is peace in anyone involved in this process, it is one of the nicest ways to go. As much as we want to keep people we love alive, this can also means they will stop suffering and get their wish granted; that's the part the love ones can focus on, making it a good memorable departure.

I understand what people say regarding religion and suicide. However how is it humane to end a pets suffering and not a person ? If all medical options are exhausted? It’s certainly not the easy way out . I don’t think I have the right to tell someone to stay on and suffer . It’s one of those things you can’t speak on until you’re in the situation. I feel like the government picks and chooses when to apply biblical principles. Sad

I can’t imagine getting a terminal diagnosis. Maintaining control of your life would be an important part of coping i would imagine. My concern is I wonder if this medication to terminate a life would end up in the wrong hands. I hope that the distribution of something so powerful would be heavily ans carefully monitored.

Thank you for joining the conversation. Every Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) law has a multi-step eligibility process. No one can request medication on behalf of someone else. The patient must request the medication and be able to take it on their own. Most patients who access MAID are enrolled in hospice, so medication safety is part of the process.

death with dignity is not the end of suffering if you do not have Jesus in your life. You do not get to heaven being a good person, or doing good deeds. The bible says, unless you are born again, you cannot seen the kingdom of god. We are all sinners upon birth, and if we dont repent and trust in Jesus, we will go to hell. Research for yourself. it sounds harsh, but there is no other way than through Jesus. You are to put it in Gods hands, because you are not the owner of yourself, God is. And if you trust in Him, he will give you what it takes to get through. Its in his hands, not yours. But you must ask him into your life first, and he will give you eternal life. I only tell you this cuz I care, and so does Jesus.
