EVO moment 37 is so iconic that in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, when Ken uses his final smash, the move starts with Ken assuming his third strike parry pose in reference to Daigo’s legendary comeback.

For anyone that's not familiar with fighting games, let me tell you why EVO Moment #37 is significantly more impressive than is stated in this video. Yes, everything the host said about #37 was true. HOWEVER, for Daigo to have been able to parry the first hit, he needed to input the parry BEFORE the super flash from Chun-Li appeared. Her super is literally just that fast (1/20 second start-up before hitting). Daigo walking forward was a READ on Justin's super. And that read paid off huge.

The best part of Evo moment 37 is the fact that Justin has admitted to furiously mashing buttons and twirling his stick in an attempt to distract Daigo during the parry. That's some straight up arcade tech.

He's actually that bad and what they showed is pretty tame. The guy is aggressively racist and homophobic in his vitriol, he has a happy trigger finger for banning anyone and everyone he disagrees with, and not even his mods are safe. He also frequently threatens to inflict bodily harm to those who beat him over the most minor of offensives. All of this topped off by his massive ego, because in his words "he doesn't lose to a player, he loses to a character". He can never bring himself to admit that someone is simply better than him, so naturally his ego is all the more damaged when someone plays mirror matches with him, further affirming he's not as good as he promotes himself

The Narrator the guy is an abomination and an insult to the FGC community. He is always toxic, cant take a loss as just that. A loss. Also theres the infamous moment of him losing to BrolyLegs and constantly calling him a mutant and a specimen. He also wants people to pay and donate to his streams and reach a certain point or he end his stream or purposely be boring.

That moment wasnt that good. The comeback justin wong did vs flocker because flocker DIDNT GET 1 MORE HIT IN HIS LIGHTNING LOOPS and couldnt keep the combo going, which let justin win the game and RESET THE BRACKET was way better. Flocker won afterwards so it was pretty satisfying.

Nitpick but how can you show Poongko perfecting Daigo and not show him before the match throwing his jacket off, chucking his belt to the side, downing a whole can of Red Bull in one gulp and then beating the brakes off of Daigo? The perfect was the sweet cherry on top but the most hype thing about it is how rad Poongko presented himself before he got the perfect. (Also feel kinda bad you spent the whole clip talking Daigo up then about how good a perfect is and didn't really mention Poongko) Theres hq footage if you search Poongko vs Daigo 2011 if anyone wants to see the full reason why it was so hype, I highly suggest it. Otherwise though I love seeing FGC stuff getting noticed and besides that, love the list.

Yo that moment is very underappreciated given the fact that Galileo was sent to losers by Dogura then met him again at Grand Finals, reset the bracket after it was already on tournament point for Dogura then pulling out the win again on the final round of the 5th match after the reset. Such a back'n forth, you wanna talk about a real life anime moment in a fighting game, it's this one right here.

I wass REALLY hoping to see that on here. I mean...not to say EVO moment 37 wasn't revolutionary, but as I've read countless times, the only reason it was so popular was because of the pixel of health making the match way more tense. Apparently, people parry Chun-Li's super all the time. Garireo should've totally made it on this list.

@@xacmashe3852 actually, no. You see, maybe now you can parry chun li's super, but that's because they made the timing way more lax. When daigo did it, you literally had to start the parry input before the super animation even begins, and I'm not talking about when chun li's first kick is thrown, I mean before her flash forward animation begins. That means that daigo walked forward AS A READ, he basically gambled the whole match on the chance Justin would take his bait and throw the super.

I've seen #9 probably 3 times today getting hype for EVO, and I STILL got goosebumps. Fighting games are one thing, but it's really the scene that makes this. The games, the players, and the commentators. All three factors blend together to make a wonderful cocktail of emotions and hype big enough to blow the roof off a place. Can't wait to see DBZF and hear everyone screaming when Cell has his intro.

9:03 How is number 3 anything special? They outright said that everyone thought that the guy with the hard counter won the match, so why is the guy with the huge advantage over his opponent praised for his win?

It's because hakan is a low tier, so he's almost never seen in any high level play. And this isn't in the modern kind of low tier, where even if the character is not as good it can still see some type of play. Street fighter 4 was still the type of game where most low tier's were just not viable at All. So the fact that hakan was not only seen at evo, but was also winning, made it hype all on its own.
