In the three hundred and sixteenth episode Lady Colin Campbell reveals how the recently deceased billionairess Lily Safra was responsible for the death of her two richest husbands; what were her motives for their dispatch; how Lady C came to write Empress Bianca, the novel which Lily Safra claimed was a thinly-veiled account of her life; how the sister and niece of Brazil's richest man Freddy Monteverde, who was the first of her victims, helped with the book; how the brother of her second victim, billionaire banker Edmond Safra, also helped with the book; the parts played by the late author Dominick Dunne, writer Isabel Vincent, and 'Midnight Express' lawyer Michael J Griffith, as well as the former Green Beret male nurse; how Diana, Princess of Wales's lawyer Anthony Julius tried to bury the book; how Lady C refused to be cowed; her fightback through the courts; the resolution; how Lady C and Dominick Dunne unmasked Lily Safra's culpability, thereby thwarting her ambition to become a duchess or a princess in the wake of her fourth husband's death; how The Queen took steps to prevent Lily Safra from inveigling her way into royal circles; Lady C and Dominick Dunne's pride in having exposed her as the murderess she was.

My question is, Lady C, did you perchance remember the story about a woman in London called Jackie Noble who got the job of housekeeper to Sir Robert Mayer, now she was a piece of work too!…with a background of experience…she married him at 101…she was in her early fifties, she didn’t Have to wait long as he passed at 103 or thereabouts…she allegedly had the funereal service hurriedly and in secret and disappeared off to his property in Avenue Grace … ps Lady C, I knew Marion & Robert A from N in Suffolk

Dominick Dunne is a friggin legend..😲anyone who doesn't know who he was, is missing out... He was a great writer but after his actress daughter was brutally Murdered by her abusive ex boyfriend when she was 22 (he was free after a few years and still now lives under a fake new identity) dune became a crime expert and covered the biggest trials soooo well.. he was absolutely disgusted at oj Simpson being "innocent" and said so on live tv at the trial despite the amount of tension, as his own daughter was murdered same as nicole... And he supported the victims families. And he created the best crime show (Along with Bill Kurtis shows) and I'm SUPER PICKY... I am a conessieur of crime shows and podcasts (I've seen almost literally every one over the past 20 years, and most are terrible other than a handful ....snapped is pretty bad too.... Homicide hunter and forensic files were both awesome... But most of the shows are soo bad.... especially any of the reenacted ones) I know my stuff.. ;) ... And to this day "Dominick Dunne's power, privilege and justice " is still by far the best along with Bill Kurtis American justice. Definitely look it up on KZfaq or anywhere else, that's where I watched each episode yearsssss ago and I have seen the whole series ten times over.. ..and his coverage of oj Simpsons verdict (and the entire trial) and also documentaries on Dominick Dunne's amazing life. He was friends with all the silver screen actors and actresses, and he talks about living in those times and knowing them and how he avoided dying from drugs and alcoholism etc(they were crazy times, it turns out! Like REALLY crazy times back then) that man lived 9 lives. 🙏🌟🌟🌟 Dominick Dunne is a legend.

When the late Dominick Dunne and Christopher Hitchens wrote for Vanity Fair I would devour the magazine from front to back. No one can take their place and once Grayson Carter left as editor I cancelled my subscription as I was so disappointed not only in the poor writing but ridiculous content.

@@helenwalker716 How good is Dominick Dunne's show?! I wanna re watch it tonight, now, actually. You have taste....👌 also, cold case files and the best new show I've binged is another Joe Kenda show called "American detective". (Not as thrilling as his homicide hunter stories but it's still so well told, and really makes you empathise for the victims and the people working the case, too.)

@@helenwalker716 btw you're a true crime fan like me (I'm assuming, and you know what's good vs the trash tv) as a non Australian, do you know why American justice is not accessible in Australia? Ive tried everyway over years to watch the whole series online and buying DVDs or any format online (they don't exist in DVD format ... One of the greatest shows .... I can't believe it either) Ive even tried buying taped VHS from forums from the USA hahaha 🤣... Seriously.. cause apparently there's heaps of seasons, according to Wikipedia. It's the only show I can't access in Australia. Ive watched and got copies of every single homicide hunter, power privilege and justice and forensic files is on KZfaq... But for some reason American justice is not even available to buy outside of America... Why is that 😐?! A&E would be making so much money . But I heard back in 2015 that Kurtis productions wanted copyright ownership so I was hoping that by now, in 2022... they'd have figured that the hell out..... And Kurtis is working with a&E again soo what's the deal ?! Lol.. 😢🙄 seriously.. 😬 A&E please listen! take my money 💸💸💸. How do you guys watch it, there? Did they end up releasing the old episodes? I'm sending out an S.O.S over this! Lol from western Australia 🇦🇺

My interest in Safra began many years ago after reading a book about American Express and the smearing of Edmond Safra, regarding his Trade and Development Bank. Thank you for bringing this wonderful channel, keeping me thoroughly entertained whilst at home recovering from Covid, pneumonia, that caused a heart attack with sepsis, and other infection. Enough already, I turn to your channel for a dose of real genuine intelligent conversation. I also just love the background you use on every programme. You live in the most stunning home. Lady C a suggestion if I may, you own and wear the most gorgeous, stunning, beautiful exquisite, jewellery on every programme, I always think the one you wear is my most favourite I have seen so far until the next programme, then you manage to knock my socks off again with the most jaw dropping sparkling set ever, would you be able to do a programme about your amazing jewellery, the history, if there was romance behind any pieces etc I think that would be a delightful programme, and to learn just a little more about you as a person when you describe the way these sparklers came into your life? Just a thought. Anyway, thank you for this brilliant programme today. 💜💜💜

No one will believe his "victim by neglect" stories penned no doubt by both a ghost writer and Meghan herself.

I wouldn't think the RF would do that, that would play straight into Harry & wife's hands. But it probably was quite a shocker to have to write into the HR protocols, complaints against members of the Royal Family - that must have been a hard pill to swallow, one thing for it to have been whispered behind closed doors another to have a written evidence provided by an independent source. It is enough for H & wife to know, THEY KNOW - despite them both and their team putting a positive spin on it. And you can bet your life it extended beyond the HR & employees to other circumstances, ie the wedding fittings, the incidents in Australia. Sufficient to be the holder of the evidence.

I never thought I would hear you say the name of my city: Porto Alegre! Little is said about Lily Safra around here, I've never heard of those stories you told, all I've ever heard about her is that she was very rich and charitable (which is true). I remember seeing her house in Monaco, a huge mansion, said to be worth 500 million dollars!

Lady C, this is fascinating. The question remains how some men can get entangled with these type of women. Edmund Safra was a pathetic figure and I can't summon too much pity for him.

Lady C. your video had me spellbound today! I first heard of Lili in the early 70s, but did not move in her circles, so did not hear too much about her, except for her generous charitable donations, until her death notice was published in the paper. Will definitely be reading your book. Thank you for this portrait of a murderess.

I am glad to hear justice was served. I hope Harry is listening to today’s program and catches on before it’s too late.Maybe Megan Markell is an admirer of hers or possibly a student.😁

Great episode today! Lady C, I remember that Republic National Bank in New York(they bought out branches from Bankers Trust that went out of business) had a branch on 5th Ave. between the NY Public Library (42nd St.) & Lord & Taylor (38th St.). It was big news when Republic was sold to HSBC (Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank). Interesting to learn the origin of wealth and that the Greenberg name was translated to Monteverdi name. Now I am puzzled with the involvement of Mahfood, in the Brazilian murder episode, a familiar name for some of us in Jamaica!! I need to read up more on this Lilli Safra!!

Oh my goodness Lady C, what a video!! Like many others on here, Lily Safra was a complete stranger to me. I had no idea about any of this, but it is beyond fascinating to say the very least. You always recount great tales and Their Truth, but my jaw hit the floor like never before and I whipped around in my chair when just over halfway through the video, you mentioned Lily had ambitions to marry a Duke or a Prince. TRULY I let out such a gasp for air like never before, and you have surprised us time and again on this channel. What an entertaining broadcast today, definitely worth the diversion from the original planned content. I must find a way to get my hands on a copy of Empress Bianca now!! In the previous episode to this one, you had requested us to ask question that weren't just about Hazzbeen and Never Was. Well, I think we've found it with Lily, a very fascinating figure, and Margaret Argyll, one of my favorite topics you have brought to the channel this year. I would love it if you could present us an episode about women of great influence from the Twentieth Century. They could be supremely refined and rightfully revered, or have made deals with the devil on their days on this earth. Would love to learn about women of such, and if in fact you ever came across any in person as well!
