I made this blanket too. In the original very bright colour-scheme. It looked like one of those typically painted Indian buses had crashed on the sofa, so I made a second one in similar colours but pastels so it's a bit softer on the eyes. Then I found a bag in a thrift store with the most lovely five 100 gram skeins of 2mm Durable brand cotton yarn and decided to make a third one, in a beautiful dusty pink tone. I did some research on those skeins and it turns out those were taken out of production somewhere in the 80s. One of those skeins was attached to a small project that - obviously - never got finished. It's not the kind of yarn a beginner would buy, so I suspect it was from an old lady who no longer was able to finish her project. So.. yeah, I love making Sophie's Universe too.
