STILL Love this DeBarge song; what amazing singing by El and the harmony all of them; they are siblings. Even for its time in 1982, this was very mature, grown folk music. What makes this crazier is that El DeBarge wrote this song (and many of their other hits) at the tender age of 20!

@@pastense I agree. if Motown wouldn't have stopped El from writing and producing his own music by the mid 80's... how MANY more Time will Reveal's, all this love, I like it's, love me in a special way's, you wear it well. he could have given us in the 80's alone??? I will go to my grave saying this. El was on his way to becoming a BIGGER Superstar than Smokey Robinson/easily.

@@darrellmfume4020 sadly this is the design of the industry. I totally feel you! As a working musician myself, it’s a lot of sacrifices in creativity just to even make a statement. Think about this for all your MJs and Prince’s. They made so much music that we will NEVER see the light of. I’m sure El has the same output that we may or may not ever see. 😞

Hey I'm a 53 y.o. in the Motor City, an amateur musician all my life and I love and appreciate all music, loving most genres that exist. I don't care how old or young the person / band is, what color they are, what their life preferences or backgrounds are, etc.....I don't discriminate because music is the language that transcends all communication between us humans (and animals). My "likes" list is humongous and I listen and study everything musical, from ancient times to the now. I would love for you to react to Switch. They're the olders brothers of the Debarge family plus Philip Ingram, brother of James Ingram. There'll Never Be, I call your name and I wanna be closer are some of their hits. They are a very underrated group that is hardly ever reacted to.

Good to see you're still doin' your thing, and doin' big things to boot!! This is such a gem of a jam, and DeBarge is one of the groups that are on a heavy rotation on slow jams mixes. Another great reaction to a classic!! Keep up the great work fam!! Check out a group called Switch, 2 older DeBarge brothers are in that group, and they have a song called, "I Call Your Name". You might recognize it for another song.

DeBarge, especially El is the truth! Please react to Time Will Reveal. El wrote this song when his a$$ was 15 or 16 years old! I've always loved El, but when I realized he wrote most of the songs, I was done. I've met a lot of people, but El would make me lose my dam mind & embarrass myself. The Roney Boys (brothers who also play the music) killed this song. They are FIRE! I've never heard a bad performance. Check them out.

Lisa Fischer has some very very very AMAZING VOCALS. I don’t know anymore songs by her other than How Can I Ease the Pain. What song and/or songs do you recommend that I take a listen to? I was born in ‘88 and I lovvveeee music that was made before and after I was born, except some music after 2010. I always tell my daughter, who is 15, that their generation samples a lot of older R&B because they lack the creativity and talent. I blame auto tune and social media for these new artists!😂 Our artists could actually sing!!! Their generation doesn’t have great music. Our music is timeless. Someone needs to a save R&B, EXPEDITIOUSLY!!!!!

@@ladeiiluck Yes, her vocals are truly amazing! How Can I Ease the Pain is from her studio album, So Intense. So Intense and Save Me charted pretty good but not like How Can I Ease the Pain. Which earned her a Grammy. And I totally agree with your assessment of today's artists. So many of them sample and don't have the vocal ability of artists from back in the day. I grew up on a lot of the music from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Also enjoyed many artists from the 80's and 90's. There's just not a lot of that kind of music now. My kids and grandkids enjoy the older music and artists too. Many of the reactors are discovering and Introducing the old school music to a new fan base. Hopefully that'll help keep R & B alive. There's just too much great music from back then. I'm still enjoying my albums from back in the day!🤗

I still have seen on any reactions of Blues. ZZ Hill got my parents though their breakup. My Mom's song was Steppin out Steppin in..(I shorted the name) And my Dad's was Cheating in the next room. They both have passed on now but I can say them two songs I hold to my heart. Take a listen if you haven't heard them. After that I will give you some more Down Home Blues that I grew up on. theres no more good solos because of the technology, there's a lot of do-it-yourself artists out there who don't have the years of instrument mastery. producers don't have it either. when you're making music in your room and cant read music, you're not going to pull out a solo like that. plus you session musicians cost money.
