8 жыл бұрынThis debate was held at Press Club Hall, Trivandrum on 11.11.15 at 4 pm between noted Freethinker and authour Ravichandran C and Activist cum philosopher Rahul Eswar. This event was conducted by the Kerala Freethinkers Forum as curtain raiser to 'SWOTHANTHRA LOKAM-2015', the annual conference of freethinkers in Kerala, slated to be held on Dec 24,25 2015 at Vyloppally Saumskrithi Bhavan, Trivandrum. The Ban on cow slaughter was a topic for heated debate in India over the last six months. The conflict intensified ever since the murder of 3 Muslims in North India in October, 2015 accusing them of consuming cow meat. The debaters here tackling the question of comprehensive ban on cow slaughter in India. Widespread intolerance towards liberals and minorities have become the hallmark of present day India under the rule of the Hindu nationalist party, BJP. Earlier this year, Barack Obama himself commented on " acts of intolerance that would have shocked Gandhiji, the person who helped to liberate that nation". The current trend of "poisoning politics with religious hatred" under the present Indian Government has been criticized far and wide. See this recent editorial in New York Times : www.nytimes.com...
One of the most macabre expressions of this growing intolerance in India happened on the night of 28 September 2015 in Bisara village near Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. A 50-year-old man, Mohammad Akhlaq, was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son severely injured by a mob, for the "crime" of eating beef.See:

രാജാറാം മോഹന്‍ റായിയുടെ കാലത്ത് രാഹുല്‍ ഈശ്വര്‍ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നതു നന്നായി. അല്ലായിരുന്നു എങ്കില്‍ വിധവകളെ തീയില്‍ ഇടണം എന്നും അതു വേണ്ട എന്നും പറയുന്നവരെ സമാധാനിപ്പിക്കാനായി നമുക്ക് വിധവകളെ പകുതി ചുട്ട് എടുത്ത് രണ്ടു പക്ഷത്തിനും പ്രാതിനിധ്യം കിട്ടുന്ന തരത്തില്‍ ഒരു ന്യൂട്രല്‍ നിയമം ഉണ്ടാക്കാമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചേനെ.

രാഹുലിന് superiority complex ഉള്ളതിന്റെ ലക്ഷണമാണ് ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള സംസാരം. അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ തന്നെ നല്ല രീതിയില്‍ ഒരു ചര്‍ച്ച നടത്താനുള്ള പക്വതയോ പാകതയോ സഹിഷ്ണുതയോ ഇയാള്ക്കില്ല.വെറുതെ കുറെ വാചക കസര്ത്തും പരന്ന വായനയിലൂടെ കിട്ടിയ കുറച്ചു അറിവും അസ്ഥാനത്തും അനവസരത്തിലും എടുത്ത് പ്രയോഗിച്ചുള്ള ഒരു ഞാണിന്മേല്‍ കളിയാണ് ഇയാള്‍ നടത്താറുള്ളത്.

Because he is bending reality. According to him, "Central space" is just adjusting constitution and law for religious favour... esp majority. That is not what democracy n secularism.

In central space he is not forcing anyone to eat or not to eat beef ,in certain places during certain festivals if they can stop it for a short duration its good .Guys it's just a request .How can a request effect democracy & secularism ? For eg there are lot of cow slaughtering places nearby( majority by Muslims ) where ladies used to put Attukal Pongala . without even requesting they don't do cow slaughter on that day, not only that they used to supply drinking water & fruits to those who are doing Pongala .This is " central space".

ഈ വിഷയത്തിൽ ആളുകളെ ഹിന്ദുക്കളും മുസ്ലീംസും ആയി വേർതിരിക്കാതെ ബീഫ് നിരോധിക്കേണ്ടവരും അല്ലാത്തവരും ആയി തിരിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കൂ. കേരളത്തിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗം ഹിന്ദുക്കളും ബീഫ് കഴിക്കാൻ തല്പര്യമുള്ളവരാണു. കൂടാതെ ഇവിടെ പ്രധാനമായി സംരക്ഷിക്കപെടേണ്ടതു പശുക്കളെയും പോത്തിനെയും വളർത്തുന്നവരുടെ താല്പര്യമാണ് . അല്ലാതെ വാക്കുകൾകൊണ്ടു ഗീർവാണമടിക്കുന്നവരുടെ താല്പര്യമല്ല

This was an excellent debate. Both of them made their points very well. I felt Rahul was very well prepared and I seem to agree with his view point of taking a middle ground. Ravichandran is very factual and he is straight to the point. He debates very well and on technicality I felt he had the edge over Rahul but nevertheless it was an excellent debate. I cannot imagine Kerala without beef fry and as people say when in Rome, live like the Romans. Excellent debate KFTF, expecting more of this.

രണ്ടു മണിക്കൂറിൽ നടന്ന ഗംഭീര മഴയ്ക്ക് വളരെ ശാന്തമായ ഒരു അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ മാന്യമായ തന്റെ സമീപനത്തിന് സാധിച്ചു എന്നത് ടീച്ചറുടെ മാത്രം കഴിവായിരുന്നു. വളരെ കാര്യപ്രസക്തവും നിഷ്പക്ഷവുമയ സമീപനം. രാഹുൽ പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും അവരിൽ നിന്ന് പഠിക്കട്ടെ. ടീച്ചർക്ക് 100ഇൽ 100 മാർക്ക്‌.

ഇത് ശരിക്കും ഏകപക്ഷീയമായ ഒരു debate ആയപോലെ തോന്നിപ്പോകുന്നു. രാഹുൽ പറയുന്ന points അത് നല്ലതാണെങ്ങിൽ പോലും പലപ്പോഴും സദസ്സിൽ നിന്നും ഒരു സപ്പോർട്ടും കാണുന്നില്ല. മറിച്ചു രവിചന്ദ്രൻ എന്നാ വക്തിയെ മാത്രം അവിടെ highlight ചെയ്യുന്നപോലെ തോന്നിപ്പോയി

Humanity+religion=Eeshwar. Humanity-religeon=Ramachandran. Eeshwar has a better political standpoint but is more emotional rather than logical. Ramachandran has a better logical Base but not so great openmindedness from a political standpoint. Ramachandran won the debate, but Eeshwar won the hearts of the audience. However, religion should be kept personal and isolated when dealing with politics. So the logical part proposed by Ramachandran is more relevant.

A jokes, diggs, quips are an essential part of every debate. rahul kept on saying equal grounds and need to be in middle ground, which is exactly mr. ravichandran also was saying the middle ground is that if your belief does not allow you to harm animals then dont but dont stop others in a destructive way Rahul just kept on hitting arround the bush about this and that irrationally in an confident and elequant manner i agree but the points he made are feeble. so dressed up gormet shit.

Once he is completely out of points, his hold in malayalam language shows up......
