I feel sorry for teen girls today who don't have amazing artists like Debbie Gibson to look up to. I'm so glad I had music like this in the '80s!

You can count on one hand missing a few fingers the number of "singers" out there today who'd have the balls to get on stage and sing live like this and kill it the way she did.
@schaperart Жыл бұрын
probably the most under rated and under appreciated artist from the 80s -- Debbie Gibson has more talent in one finger than every current "artist" on the charts today -- writes, performs and producers her own music and performs live with no backing track, no lip syncing, no auto tune -- THIS is music - how lucky are we to be able to see these performances on KZfaq anytime we want?

Such an incredible talent. Beautiful, angelic voice. For those wondering why Debbie didn’t continue full speed beyond electric youth. She’s spoken about it in a few interviews recently. She suffered from extreme anxiety and felt unbearable pressure during her teen years. Pop stardom was a little more than she bargained for and felt she wasn’t equipped to handle. She began to medicate to handle the vocal stress and difficulty sleeping. It was her decision to step back and focus on other avenues as an artist. She became a pretty big deal on Broadway and continued to write and put out music for herself and others. I, as most of you, in this thread, was disappointed but I totally respect her for recognizing it wasn’t a good path for her. I think for that reason, we still have her here today, and I’m grateful for that. She’s been performing a lot the last few years and you can catch her on tour with new kids in about a month. Love you Debbie!! Your music changed my life.

dannilea regan She chose to get out of the spotlight on her own instead of getting burnt out like so many others do. She didn't get into drugs or, other addictions. I respect her for that.

Such an underrated talent. So on point her vocals were live. She wrote most of her own material before she was even 18 and even produced most of it by then too. It's a shame her career didn't continue to linger into the late 90s and into the present like it did in the late 80s and early 90s. She deserves so much more with that talent. People today tend to not appreciate talent like this. They like crap. Bless her.

Such a powerful singing voice coming out of someone so young still. She came out just at that right time when I was first discovering girls and music. At 12 years old I had no idea what love or even infatuation was. I just knew I wanted to watch her videos every time they played on MTV.

Indeed mate, this was a great time in history. Even here in Australia this song was hugely popular (along with Miami Vice) and Debbie Gibson was one of those artists who did not flash her stuff just to get onto the charts. Her songs were from the heart and written by her. She has changed over the years though and does tend to flash herself somewhat, and her voice has changed too. Still though it is good to see she is still around doing her thing. Indeed the 80's were good :)

Was at a wedding where after the vows the bride sang "Lost In Your Eyes" to the groom. She practiced it pretty well because she got him to tear up and the audience to cheer like it was a ballgame. This is THE couple's song. If you can sing and you sing this song your significant other is putty in your hands.

I'm so impressed with her best performance! No one can sing a song like her on live. I send my honor to her, and now I want to tell her that she doesn't have to be sad even if she have lost her voice like before, becacuse she is the best singer now too and she is next to us, and we also will be next to her all the time. Please cheer up, Debbie! We love you and your sincere attitude!
