In this video, Ro is joined by Debbie, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had her first chemo 17 days prior. Debbie had gone in for her annual mammogram and they found a small lump which turned out to be cancer. When Debbie learned that she would be losing her hair, she went on our website, purchased a wig and had it trimmed to her liking. Now she is meeting with Ro to not only find a new wig and other items to add to her "wig wardrobe" but also to help others who are going through the same thing, as she loves watching Dani and Ro empower people through their videos.

Thanks for this video. I too have had chemo. My last was in April. My hair is coming back but very thin and curly, it use to be thick. I have purchased Freedom and another shorter version. I can’t count the amount of compliments I have received on these wigs. The only time I tell them it is a wig is when they ask what salon I go to. The wigs make me feel better about myself. I understand totally! I am going thru immunotherapy for kidney cancer. My hair comes and goes. Right now its very thin and I can see my scalp. I wear a pixie, my hair is totally white partially die to the age and the drugs. I have worn wigs when I first lost it. Haven' t worn them in a while. Been thinking about wearing them now in a gray or white. I watch you because you are so inspiring. If I lived closer I would so love to come to your shop! Thanks for all you do.

I wish I would have found your channel when I was going through chemo. When my hair started falling out I had my DIL shave my head as I wasn't aware I didn't need to. I wore a wig or a scarf when out and about but around the house, I just went au natural and liked it that way. My grandchildren loved to kiss and rub my head, so that made all of us feel good. :)

Debbie, you could have picked any of them because you looked lovely in all. Sydney is stunning on you! I love how proactive you’re being with your new challenge. You are an inspiration. As a side note, my husband had chemo for Diffuse Large B cell lymphoma which was in his liver and all through his skeleton. He would tell you the chemo was a bitch but so worth it to be cancer free for over a year now and feeling good. Stay as positive as you can and practice lots of self care. You’ve got this!

What a great choice Debbie! Sidney’s color is just beautiful! It is one of my own favorite colors. Even though you’ve become part of our community under adverse circumstances, you will find wearing these beautiful wigs is advantageous long after your cancer treatments. Your videos are a blessing to all who are undergoing chemo, suffering from alopecia or any condition causing hair loss. The impact can be devastating but these wigs give back the self-confidence often needed to get out and continue to live each day to the fullest. You & your daughter really put women at ease at what can be one of the most difficult times in our lives to get through. Debbie looked great in all she tried on, but the ones w/highlights around her face were my favorite. Thanks for all you do!

Debbie, I too am going thru chemo and my hair is just beginning to come out. I have 6 Godiva Secret wigs and am looking at a couple more. Debbie looked great in all of the wigs. My personal favourite was Diana, but she looks fab in her choice of Sydney too. The highlights give her a lift and bring out her eye colour. Freedom was fab too but she is used to long hair so too big a change for now until she builds her confidence. This is what my S.I.L does for a living. She has alopecia and she set up her own wig business in Ireland 16 years ago. She doesn't do fashion wigs but specialises in cancer and alopecia patients and she is like you Ro, she is so good at building her clients self esteem and giving them confidence in wearing wigs as she wears one herself all the time. I'd put a link to her website but you might not want me to even though she is in Ireland so not really in competition with GSW.

I have alopecia and I move around a lot at night, so I use the wig grip to keep the sleep cap on my head all night. My husband went through chemo for leukemia and I needed something on my head day and night for my own comfort while I was with him in the hospital 24/7. Also, be prepared for much different hair when it grows out, and it probably will go through several changes in texture. IT’S ALL GOOD! It’s also a good time to quit putting chemicals on your head. That’s the beauty of wigs. You can be any color you want to be.

I'm also (as usual) impressed with how well you work with her. I liked Madison, Sidney, and Diana much better than Taylor on her. But the Freedom is AMAZING! She's so beautiful in it. Cancer is OPEN WARFARE in the body. Chemo is the weapon you've been given to fight back. War comes with cost and sacrifice. We pay in our tears, in our self-image, in the illness that chemo can bring; but that's what war is. That's why we don't call them "patients"" we call them WARRIORS. Thank you Debbie, I have recently went through pancreatic surgery and chemo and am doing very well. In my experience losing my hair really lowered my spirits significantly. I now have one wig and it has helped my outlook so much. I loved all the wigs you chose they looked so natural on you. I also thought Freedom looked lovely on you and wonder if you could get it with the highlights like the long one you chose. I appreciate you stepping out of your comfort zone to help others because this video was very helpful to me. God bless you.
