In this video I am showing how to achieve softness with acrylic in a portrait painting on canvas. I am showing the step by step process of painting with acrylic colors without using any retarder. In this demonstration I am using only water mist to keep my paint moist in my palette. No retarder or any kind of medium is used in the entire process.
I have started this painting with a base coat of Crimson lake and Yellow Ochre. Then, I have applied many thin layers to achieve the desired effect of the skin tone and the effect of transparent cloths. Most of the blending is done with dry brush technique with minimal water on the palette.

Thank you for sharing. I never knew a palette knife is what was used to create the background texture. I have been using a makeup sponge, but don’t really like how that turns out. Thanks!

I mostly use white bristle flats and round nylons of various sizes. Any brand will work. You can find link in my previous videos. Thank you so much for your appreciation and support 🙏😊

If you are asking about portrait, go for a reference where both light and shadow is evident. And use limited color in ur palette. You may find my detail process in my other real time videos. Brother what brushes do you use most and their size?

I mostly use some white bristle flat brushes for blending and some synthetic nylon for delicate works. My sizes varies with canvas sizes I use. Usually I use size 4, 6 and 8 in flats and 0, 2, 4 for detail works. Thank you.

Bro can you tell me how the paint is in very thin while you are using ,I have tried it on canvas it's very thick in state . And I have used acrylic colors and acrylic medium matte .what should do can you suggest for it .

I don't use any medium. Only water. Moreover I use colors very lightly. Using medium is good for adding some textures on your canvas. But for portrait it's better to use only water. Thank you so much for your comment 🙏
