I had to test a NEW secret bait that a subscriber suggested I try to make. I used my Do-it molds EWG NED head and mixed it with a finesse jig. The results spoke for themselves!

It’s nice to see fishing is picking up for you and you’re finally on a prespawn bite. The spawn is pretty much over here in Eastern North Carolina and it has been a disappointing year so far. Biggest bass is only 3.5 pounds this year, but last year I had already caught several 5s and a couple 6s by this time. Hopefully, I can make up for it with the summer frogging bite.

I'm always happy seeing when you have some success with a spinning rig, and even better when using your own lure! I always do well with finesse-ish lures on a spinning set up this time of year, but haven't done as well this spring. I also just haven't had time to fish as much either and observe what's going on with the spawning sequence.
