There are various types of bunkers on the golf course. Depending on the lie of the ball and the situation, many of these shots are played differently. Knowing how to assess and determine the correct strategy can save you shots from the various situations in bunkers.
Join me In this video where I discuss fairway, waste, green side and pot bunkers and the various situations you can find in these sand traps. I even show you what Seve Ballesteros showed Sandy Lyle.
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.
You can find out more about the Single Plane swing in my best selling book, The Single Plane Golf Swing, Play Better Golf the Moe Norman Way.

excellent explanation. no one has ever explained (at least to me that i could understand) the lowering of the shaft thing. Todd - you have found your niche with this combination of single plane swing education and real work golf applications. much appreciated. more please.

Tod, I am so bad at bunker play, i will use a putter whenever possible.... [ no joke] after watching this video i took some of your practical swing thoughts to the course... i hit 2 greens from fairway bunkers 135 and 150 yds away also made 2 greenside bunker shots within 4 ft... [ yes i made the puts ] your no nonsense approach has much to offer in improving my game... back to the practice range.... thanks again VINCE

Todd, met you at the Ok 3 day school back in August. Learned more at your school in 3 days about playing the game of golf than I've learned over the last 30 years. Your videos about the fundamentals of the game have changed my whole concept of the game. I love golf know where as before there was a love/hate relationship between golf and I. ...mike

Just listened to Bryson's Wednesday presser interview at this week's Shriner event. He said he'll likely use the 48 inch driver at the Masters, if he can get the mis-hits under control. He also said the speed numbers are MUCH higher than what he's already at with the 45 inch driver. As a side-note, Rory McIlroy has been working hard on his speed game, and recently posted ball speed numbers of 191 MPH, carry 350 yards!! Looks like Bryson is going to have some competition at the Masters, but Bryson has the distinct advantage of a SINGLE PLANE SWING, which I can attest is amazingly straight!!

Bryce, the number 1 thing you can do to immediately improve your game is to buy a quality video camera and stand. Video every single practice session. I guarantee what usually takes years to improve, will be shortened to months or even weeks! Be sure to video both, behind you down the target line and face on every session. Then you can compare this to what Moe and Todd are doing. Hosel and thin shots are likely caused by "early hip extension", which is a very common flaw among amateurs. The other big one is rising up (losing spine angle) in the backswing, which puts the swing plane above where it was at address, making it very difficult to get back down to it in the downswing. The BEST way to really know is VIDEO!!
@ToddGravesGolf
@ToddGravesGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Master the address position which includes ball position and body position. It sounds like you are coming out of your side-bend (side tilt) int he downswing.

Great videos Todd! I’ve made the move over to the single plane swing after years of not getting better and stalling out as a 10-12 handicapper. I ordered your training aid for feet alignment and ball placement and have watched a bunch of your videos. Tee shots have improved dramatically and my last round I hit 10-14 fairways, but iron play is still very inconsistent. I am struggling not hitting the ball with solid contact and I’ve lost distance on my irons. I’m ok with the distance loss if that correlates into more accuracy. Any advice for a 47 yr old that is really dedicated and practices a bunch and looking to get into the single digits? Thank man! Scott

make sure you get the ball position correct for irons. Sometimes you can get too wide for irons.

Hello Todd, I've watched quite a few of your video's. I have a question that I have not seen addressed.... Weight placement throughout the swing? Can the single plane swing integrate into stack and tilt? Ed
@ToddGravesGolf
@ToddGravesGolf 3 жыл бұрын
The Single Plane swing starts and impacts the club on the same plane of the club shaft. Stack and Tilt is a bit different position of the sidebend of the body throughout the swing. I am not sure if you can combine the two and be as efficient as following the biomechanical advantages of the Single Plane Golf swing positiions.

Hey Todd I don't know if you'll see this but I'm really loving the one plane swing I'm hitting the ball straight as ever but for some reason ever since I started the single plane swing I've lost 20 yards of distance with my irons but gained distance with my drivers and woods why is this.
@ToddGravesGolf
@ToddGravesGolf 3 жыл бұрын
are you hitting the irons too high? Check ball position and make sure your stance width is not too wide on the irons.

@@calebsnider4730 by narrowing your stance, as Todd suggested, that allows the ball to be further back which will automatically give the shaft more lean.

Hi Todd I know your about 5ft8 tall, which is the same size as me, which is on the short end for standard clubs. Do you use standard or -0.25 clubs? Also you talked before about trying out putting grips in a competition for size. Do you use like a Midsize now or something similar?

My Sandy Andy arrives Friday. You can bet I'll be straight off to the range too. I was at the range the other day, the only other 2 people there was a man and his coach. I received the best golf compliment I've ever heard when he said, "That guy is a like a machine", as I was swinging Moe Norman's single plane swing, and nearly every shot was perfectly straight and long. One after another, like clockwork! Can you imagine what his coach was thinking? hahaha - See my range session - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hbCZnM2gptjZoYU.html
