Thanks for sharing encouraging words. I will be doing a full on the water fishing review soon. I've been holding off with doing that until I've fished out of it enough to really be able to deliver the pros and cons. It's a great kayak for fishing and being able to cover a lot of area quickly to find fish. I've actually spent ten hours on the water using a 100 amp lead/acid battery and still had half the charge when finished. Thanks for joining as a follower.

I'm on the fence about going from a Hobie Revolution 13 to this Sportsman. The one thing that's holding me back is not actually seeing one of these on any lake yet. I'm on very kayak heavy waters in southern California. Seems like everyone just upgrades to the Autopilot models. Holding a spot in the wind is quite frustrating in the Hobie without an anchor and I assume there would be a lot of fumbling with the power lever. The nice thing about this one is the steering is foot control, so would really just need to find a good speed to get close to the wind/current. The price is also a major deciding factor in it's favor.
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
The 106 Powered By Minn Kota is an excellent kayak for sure. You are right though compared to the Autopilot 120 or 136 there's some additional work involved in operating that throttle lever and anchoring with the 106 Powered By Minn Kota. The Autopilot is a lot easier to fish out of than the 106 Sportsman; the remote control operation and the GPS anchoring is amazing and you can also operate the rudder with your feet. Here are my review videos of both models. Autopilot kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrCAi9aTu9StoWw.html 106 Sportsman kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lapgjNOE2dqqf6s.html

The one thing that they could improve on is making the three wire caps for electronics larger. Also, why are there gear rails on the back that you can't reach?
@RadReelingFishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. The rear gear track works great for anything. I use it for my flag pole that has the light on it for night fishing. I also use it for my Ralblaza camera boom, and I also used it to add cleats for docking the kayak...I haven't used the wire grommets yet, but from watching Old Town's video on installing a fish finder the holes looked fine. Just got this kayak delivered today. Went back and watched your video again - previously watched before ordering in January. Probably will need to watch at least one more time. 2 quick questions. I presume I will need a separate battery for that as well. Again - any suggestions for a fish finder battery? Thanks
@RadReelingFishing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video. I use a lead/acid 27 class 100 amp hour marine battery. I'm fine with carrying the weight of the battery to and from the kayak. I never researched a lithium battery because the cost doesn't work for my budget. For the fish finder you'll have to do your own research on what's recommended for your device. Thanks for commenting.
