Tatyana, I adore this recipe! It made me so hungry, I almost got up and started cooking in the middle! I LOVE your idea of combining butter and cream cheese to make buttercream. I am 71, and was a sous chef in a French restaurant, and have never seen that before

Oh my, the Chocolate Mint cake looks absolutely beautiful for the holiday, Miss Tatyana. The mint buttercream frosting makes the chocolate cake even tender, along with a drizzle of chocolate ganache, that enhances the sweetness of it. As a chocolate lover, I would do the same as you do, by drizzling some chocolate ganache on the slice. Apart from it, both cake layers and levels are fine, as long as we understand. Also, I think I should pay attention to the names of each kitchen appliance in American English. Thank you for the brief information on the cake scrapper.

Cant wait to make this soon for me for the layers can i use vegan butter and coconut milk / frosting can i use vegan butter and cream cheese and ganache can i use coconut cream i never had mint chocolate cake with chocolate ganache before i love chocolate soooooooooo much perfect for my after office snacks

Hi Raffi! Your comment made my day! I'm so glad you've been enjoying my recipes. The cranberry chicken is so delicious! :) I hope it's a hit for you, too! You can make any of my cakes into a sheet cake or rectangle cake. For a large cake, I recommend making a double portion of the recipe and baking the batter divided between two, half-sheet pans. You would also double up the buttercream. Let me know if you have any questions!

I would also like to have that food coloring that you used. I just got the peppermint oil but food coloring is something that freaks me out unless it’s naturally derived. But I love this color. So can you help a girl out. Thanks and thanks for listing all the stuff in your kitchen. I’m about to go back through that now. Girl power 👊💖

I use the brand AmeriColors for all my food coloring. You can find them on Amazon, and in kinds of sets. They have a ton of colors! :)

I know this may seem like a silly question, but I’m just really getting new to a lot of the baking. But on the chocolate melts, can we actually use a chocolate candy bar to do the same thing?

Hi! A chocolate candy bar will also work, but I recommend using chocolate melts. The melts will set very nicely. I just don't know how the candy bar would behave.

Hi Tatyana ! I am in the middle of making this cake. I have filled the cake and crumb coated it and I have run out of buttercream ! I would respectfully suggest you double the amount of buttercream 🙂I'll have to buy more butter and cream cheese and finish the cake tomorrow.

Hi! Oh, no! I'm so sorry about that! I usually don't use too much buttercream. In the future if you try more of my cake recipes, double up the frosting recipe for extra! :)
