My friends and I use to worship Nihility and the Negation. I feel honored to be able to have seen them live twice before the tragedy. I never saw the original vocalist live but Covan was a beast as well.

I covered the song, the riff is hard and took me a long time to figure out. I can tell you from experience that some of the shit on Organic Halucinosis is extremely difficult though. Post Organic verse, some parts of Day 69, Visual Delusion, etc.

Its so weird because I'm not a death metal fan in general, but Decapitated has a special thing in those first albums they putted out. I try to listen to many other death metal bands (including legendary ones like Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, etc) but they bore me. Like, its just Decapitated for me. Oh and Dying Fetus to name another one.

1998-2006 was the prime years of Death Metal. Most of the established bands were at their peak, the music had evolved to a level of brutality that has yet to be rivalled and has since devolved into a 'who can do the most weedly woo stuff in a song'. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of the modern stuff too like Rings of Saturn and Within The Ruins, but it's not got a patch on the sheer devastation that was the Death Metal of this era. Dying Fetus, Decapitated, Cryptopsy, Nile, Suffocation etc.
