@@cardinalskies2785Fair to her though, apparently she made this game on a whim just for fun and isn't invested in it as many others are. Which I totally get, she caught lightening in a bottle and didn't feel it was deserving of such high praise. Using crossroads for example was likely just an easy method for map making, despite it somehow turning out good due to the touches she added onto it. A big happy accident that caught on, and that she wants to move onto new things from. We're lucky people like Zym are around to carry on that legacy.

@@unbromomento6338 Exactly. I never played those old maps much myself (I started on Roblox aroundn2016 ish when I first got a tablet), but even I feel a sense of something being...off. Red did an amazing job with atmosphere, but even still some parts of the map feel...artificial due to the crossroad DNA. As such, it feels like this wasn't a real lived-in place, but some kind of game arena (cough cough survival of the fittest) that ended up being one of the few safe spots left on the planet. I also doubt she intended the lore to be anything but set dressing, but (kinda like tf2 lol) it just manages to..fit together perfectly in a...I don't know how to explain it, kind of like a real place? Not everything is important but it all tells a story with a consistent tone and style; the Apostle's rejection of the reingokin, many traits being mental disorders, the complete lack of any tutorial all lending themselves to this bleak yet mysterious environment. What lies in the storm, what are the shadows, why were you sent here? You never get proper answers, but you can guess, gleam info, and form small victories here and there. It matches the gameplay perfectly, and I really don't think it was intentional despite how well it fits.

if you look past the fact that archeximus (red) only gave credit for half the stuff she used (atleast in the description) its a pretty fun game honestly, I just wish red knew how to make an actual good game without taking assets from other games (division, payday2, tarkov, titanfall, etc) and if you take it further, you have to beat the game the TRUE way to see the credits

Well, most of her games aren't exactly original concepts in their own right not just on top of OST, and the small issue with that too is well.. some people may think certain songs or sounds are from decaying winter, since they wouldn't get the credibility they deserve.

Archeximus doesn't own the game anymore, but at the time most of those features were added she didn't have a sprawling community that she could sap for assets like Zym probably easily could today. Even just writing in pathfinding for scavengers is a time consuming nightmare, and she just was not equipped to create an entire soundtrack for the game herself.

This isn't really a guide video, but since you're already here I'll slide you some tips. FOR GUNS AND AMMO: Craft guns like the AKM and KSG since they have a large clip. With enough scrap and managing, you can craft multiple of these items to get you tons of ammo and good guns. Never start using guns until night 4 or 5 since ammo is valuable, no matter how much you have. Unless you feel like a great run is going to end badly, use one. Prioritize giving ammo and guns to backline teammates since they aren't as tanky as frontliners. Use the AKM and KSG. They're very good crafted guns and can be used consistently throughout the game. Limited or Rare rarity guns are sometimes good, but the rest are either memes or powerful enough to level a skyscraper and anything in its vicinity with no ammo to use. FOR ENEMIES: (I'd rather you look at the trello for this) Melee enemies always have a set first action. They can be distinguished by their outfit and what they hold. It's hard to remember which ones do what, but it helps to know. Gun enemies will always fire at you as long as they are in sight, even if their shots don't hit. To escape, try and weave while rushing back to base and search for corners to lose sight of them. Reikgon shadows are aggressive and shouldn't be played around with unless it's a hanger. Run as fast as you can if you hear a sickler or a skinner and leave it to scavs to take care of. If you hear a hidden, don't turn your back and ping spam to see their location. Hidden reikgon will always one shot you and zoom across the map if you don't look at them. FOR RESOURCES AND SCRAP Food isn't usually needed in my experience, it barely helps a tiny bit on scav wars or final waves. It provides more melee dmg and defense by around 15%(?) only when the bar is green. Give scrap and high scrap items to teammates who need it the most or if you aren't using it for any reason. It leads to better scav nights in general and less arguing. Always scrap steel snares. I don't care how many you have, they won't help in late game stages and you won't need them early game anyway. Same with melee weapons unless you are a melee based perk. Make sure to scrap items you don't need and do an inventory check if you have the time to and don't have anything else to do. CONTROVERSIAL TECHNIQUES Cheesing sledge queen may take an agent or two, but it is still hard to pull off perfectly. Use holo emitters to drag her out and make sure you have good positioning to cheese. Duping is a very risky tactic that can get you banned (If you're dumb, it's illegal in legitimate runs.) and is not appealable if you get caught. Doing it with friends in a private server would be safer. Keep in mind that some dupe methods have been patched and can bug you out completely. It's very profitable and reliable, but very risky. Press 0 when you enter : )

I agree with most of this except for scrapping melee weapons if you aren't a frontliner. You won't always have the option to out-range your opponent during looting phase since most guns are very loud and it's not worth spending the ammo of any silenced weapon on one tomahawk scavenger because you can't parry him. You won't need to have a great melee for this, but it's the difference between getting heavy attacked by a Sledger that just came out from around the corner before you can pull out your KSG. I wouldn't necessarily consider using guns "cheesing" the sledge queen unless you are using something like Zealot ability cheesing or spamming throwing knives from on top of the tower or in the safe zone. Not a lot of players can kill her with melee, although it's a lot less costly if you can pull it off. Rations are a lot more important than they look. By not starving and being dehydrated you lose a total of 30% melee damage, 30% damage resistance and quite a significant amount of movement speed. If you are well fed then you gain 15% melee damage, 15% damage resistance and a decent amount of movement speed. There isn't an up in your face indicator so it may not seem as important but that's a net difference of 45% of either stat. This matters less for perks like Survivalist or Tickspider which are decent in every stat, but for something like Arbiter which is played by zooming between enemies, dealing heavy melee damage, and taking all of the hits for your team the simple act of not eating cuts your capability to play your role ALMOST IN HALF. This matters even more for perks like Mindflayer which already has a ridiculously low damage defence, being able to get two shot by a heavy attacking baseball bat scav from full health just because you didn't eat.
