i dont think it should be with a because, i think it should be with a "," a because would feel a bit weird for it being near the top of what your writing about. however leaving it with a "." makes your sentences feel a little bit rumbly, breaking it up to much. take my thought prosses as you will but i feel a "," could be your best bet
