Early winter with the first frost is the time for me to start protecting my deciduous trees . I’ve different ways to store them during winter . Always remembering they need cold to hold the energy and start Spring with a good flash . In this video I try to show you my strategy and guide you on this important task for bonsai practitioners .

I am glad I found this video. I have some fungal issues with my deciduous trees and bonsai. I just started using the LS on them. I also use the commercial black fabric thru my nursery floor should I spray the fabric? Thank you

Leave mine out all winter (UK) no protection and never had a problem, my cocern is too much water falling in the autumn

Does that include small pots to. Do you just put them on the ground? This is my first winter. I have chinese elms, Acers, larches, small 1 year seedlings from an aldertree in the yard and some conifers. I live in Denmark. Could i just do the same even if temps go Down to -5C for days?

Hi Thomas most of my trees are medium large but smaller ones do stay outside. the safest place is off the ground. I have in the past got a lot my trees in the greenhouse and that was because they were getting far to wet.,but if you follow Mauro's advice for peace of mind Iwould go along with it, Iwould''nt likr to be responsible for any loses you might incur. @@thomastoft2787

Ciao Mauro,sempre molto belli ed utili i tuoi video. Dove vivi tu il clima in inverno è molto più freddo rispetto a dove vivo io (Napoli),però volevo chiederti una cosa....per quanto riguarda le conifere possono rimanere all'aperto, ma è vero che il loro apparato radicale è sensibile al gelo ed ai venti freddi e quindi deve essere protetto? Grazie sempre e complimenti!👍👍👍

Le mie conifere gelano senza problemi tutto l inverno ed anche alcune latifoglie

Can you explain what was happening at 3:38 please Mauro? What was your helper using to spray on the trees?

lime sulphur solution, probably 1:20 mixed with water

He was spaying a mix of water and jin liquid 1/50 to protect from fungal issue and pest control during winter as I was explain later in the video

Why put the trees on a wooden palet? The ground is warmer than the air that could come from below in case of frost.

Il liquido jin anche se diluito può danneggiare l'apparato radicale?

Se con poco indice di diluizione puo bruciare le radici come altri fungicidi o anticrittogamici

The tree at 5:00 is not a bonsai, it is a stump trying to remain alive. Just look at it, man. You've got some nice trees, but you disgrace the art of bonsai by presenting this atrocity.
